I suppose it depends on the degree of claustrophobia and the type of car. I am very claustrophobic but I don't have any trouble in any cars, except for convertibles when the tops are ON and I sit in the back seat. But in terms of actually driving, I don't see a problem.

yes they can. i can anyway. but i have a big car so i can have room
but i still feel closed in when i drive thru tunnels or over long bridges.

There are anti-anxiety meds for that.
- a prescription for diazepam works well for those type of disorders.
