Why does everything have to be about feminism? Why is it that you think all women hate men and want to turn them into pansies? Why do you think that all men hate women and have nothing better to do then keep them under their thumbs? Why have you turned God into someone who cares nothing for women and wants to keep them under HIS thumb?
God isn't patriarchal or misogynistic. He just has ordained that people have roles in their relationship with each other, not that one role is better than the other. Husbands and wives are instructed to give each love, respect, and to care about each other as they care about their own bodies. How is that misogynistic?

old habits die hard, when ignorance is passed on from generation to generation, it is hard to break the chain.

I find it hard reject the idea that men aren't superior, due to relgious up bringing and the roles my parents played in the family, and just what is preached in church and what is written in the bible.

i think like any peice of history ( which is what the bibl is) the person writing it at the time writes it from their point of view and even if they are writing it objectively the writing becomes influenced by their opinions. and by what is commonly practiced. I mean the messages are wonderful in the bible, but somehow it is a product of that time. in the same way a lot of the older history books don't tell it like it was, they tell it how they wanted it to be.

You are stating facts not in evidence. If you think, for instance, Christianity is misogynistic, okay. I don't. Patriarchal? You mean because God is called "Father"? So?

Jesus Christ changed my life. He gave me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, my life is a garden because of Him.

So...my opinion of this particular "monothestic faith" is rather a 180 from yours!

If it does not affect you why do you care? I am a Roman Catholic and I like the position a woman has. I am the heart of my household and we women have honor and deep respect in our Church. Attend daily Mass and you will see mostly women. Sunday we still outnumber men. We are more likely to work and volunteer at Church and elsewhere. Not all women want to be men. Some of us want to be feminine ladies and be treated with respect. I like doors opened for me and heavy packages carried. I am a woman and happy to be so. And by the way I do NOT want female priests.

Jesus, time and time again, supported women and their equal rights. He prevented stonings and permitted prostitutes attend meals with him.

The Christian and Jewish God is often described as "the God of the oppressed."

Look into it.
