One word...REVOLUTION...It is amazing stuff. As it is fairly new, call around to your vets to see who is carrying it..I wonder where it has been all my life!

It protects against fleas, ticks, heartworm, and mites, and many other parasites..It is a spot-on-skin liquid.

Flea control. It's cheaper if you get it a vet's office. The two most common brands are "Advantage" or "Front line". You just put the medication over the backs (instructions will be in the packet). You have to do it once a month. If there are a lot of fleas in the yard you may want to get some flea powder and sprinkle it outside. The Advantage and Frontline work great. They are made for cats and dogs. *** But...use the cat medication on the cat and the dog medication on the dogs. IF YOU PUT THE DOG FLEA CONTROL ON THE CAT IT CAN KILL YOUR CAT !!

If this is a infestation that has gone on for a while then my suggestion is to take your animals to the vet and ask for a pill called Capstar. It is the absolute best that you can get to get rid of fleas. It is a small pill that you give the animal and within 30 minutes you can actually see the fleas fall dead from the animal. But you have to follow it up with either advantage, revolution or something like that. I used Capstar on my cat and followed up with revolution and that was a year ago and still no fleas. I live in an area with many stray cats and they have fleas and I still have not gotten any more on my cat. Call a vet and ask them about it.

The best way but may be a bit costly... is... bath the dogs well with a flea control shampoo and also the cats if they will allow you to bathe them in water. If not with water, then use plenty of flea powder in their fur.. THEN remove the pets from the area and then spray any and all areas where the pets have been or are likely to go.. this kills the fleas in that area.. THEN in a week, repeat the same thing over again and this time, it will kill the eggs that are hatching.. flea eggs. I have done this a number of times and it is the ONLY way to rid yourself of fleas

Advantage gets rid of fleas. Frontline gets ticks AND fleas. If your animals are outside any, I'd use the Frontline. Both are sold in doses based on pet weight. Your vet usually charges about the same price or sometimes a less than pet stores; but he/she can give you the local recommendation for your area and situation.

when we did battle with the little springy monsters our vet told us to use Dawn dish soap to give out cat and dog a bath, being careful around the yes and it got rid of them on the animals after they dried off we treated them with Advantage or soemthing and they came back. We re-bathed them and used Frontline and we have been sans fleas for about 2 months now. We live in SC and the fleas are bad, when we lived in Colorado we never saw flea one. Check with your local vet to see what works best in your area.

Advantage from your vet, it takes care of fleas and ticks. Stuff over the counter like Hartz will just hold them back but never totally get rid of them. I know a vet visit isn't cheap but it saves you in the long run from having to deal with fleas or ticks on your animals.

K9 Advantics
Frontline +

Stuff like that.........
If you need help getting them out of your house after wards........

1. Take a pan, put water, and a few drops of soap in it
2. put a nightlight in a room and stay out for the night
3. Keep the pan in there, and every morning check the pan. When you wake up in the morning and see nothing has been added in the pan, you can stop the process and the fleas are out of that room

i would first get the animal and move it outside. then i would put flea powder on the floor, sweep or vacuum it up, spray some flea spray. then bathe the animal in flea shampoo, brush flea powder in their coat, and put a flea collar on them.. also, you can put a bowl of dish detergent and leave it around the room where they were out. fleas are attracted to it for some reason, and will jump in and drown themselves..

Most of the time, you need to get ADVANTAGE from the vets. However, it is available at major pet stores at about three times the price. It is a very small vial and it is admistered onto the backside of the animal and rubbed into the skin. Lasts about three months, and it works great!
