I didn't call her for three days and I lied to her. Plus I messed up a lot earlier this year. She is really upset because I was an idiot. How do I make it up to her? What should I do to change? She is leaving the country in a month and I need to be on good terms before she leaves.

I am nothing without her. She is my life and my only hope of being happy in life. Without her I will just be a miserable old waiter living at home and playing dungeons and dragons on the weekend

You should stop being a jerk, call her every night, do something out of the blue to be nice to her, and try to save the relationship. If she is your world-- go for it.

First, tell her how you really feel and that you are sorry. Tell her why you didn't call her and why you lied. Your girlfriend probably doesn't trust you as much as she did before. You can tell her that you will change but actions speaks louder than words. When she leaves write and call her every day and DO NOT LIE to her anymore. If you think you can make this works go for but do not go along with it if you're going to mess things up again. She will only take so much.

DO NOT give up. Buy her flowers or something really nice and bring give them to her in a public place where you can display you love for her in front of everyone. Write her a long letter expressing how sorry you are and how much of a jerk you feel like for putting her through all this crap. Convince her that you can change. Call her every day. Sing to her. Read her poetry. Do creative things that are out of the ordinary. You may think you look dumb doing sweet things that are out of character, but she will appreciate the change in you. Tell her everything you love about her and give her infinite compliments.
It will not work immediately, but if you persevere in your efforts to win her back, I think she will forgive you by the end of the month.
HOWEVER, if you are not truly willing to change, do not even bother attempting to reconciling with her. It would not be fair to either of you.

So she is leaving and you are staying behind? Ok, use that time to get to know you---find out what you like, what you don't like, how you feel about your friends and why, and eliminate on a day to day basis what you don't like about yourself. You do that on a day to day basis, it will become habit, I can guarantee you that. Instead of going out on the high, stay at home, reflect, watch tv, read books, - don't do what you did in the first place to mess up. When she comes back you can explain her what led you to mess up, and in all likelihood will she notice a positive change in you---and that will probably convince her more than anything else, that you are for real....Good Luck

Write her a letter, in your hand writing. Tell her how much she means to you, how you messed up, why you did it, how you take full responsibilty for it, realize how much you love her, then end the letter with this...."just give me the chance to become the man you always hoped I would be". And tell her you love her. But remember this..if this doesn't work, it's not the end of your life or world. If she dumps you, it will hurt, no going around that, but through it. You will survive and live to laugh about it.

NO ONE can live up to the load you place on her. You may be an idiot but not because you messed up with her. You may be an idiot because you think you can be happy only with her. That sort of thinking is not healthy nor realistic. Get some help.

Confess your sins and tell her what you just put in that last paragraph. Take her out to dinner and buy her flowers. If you know someone who plays the guitar, pay that person to stand under her window and serenade her, or better yet, sing a love song to her yourself. Use your imagination. If you act humble and sincere, she just might come around. Be a romantic fool -- girls love that. Good luck!

Well my husband messes up everyday of his God forsaken life. Cook her a nice dinner, run her bath water, light some candles, listen to some music, just set and cuddle. Tell her how much you love her and how much your going to miss her while she's gone. QUIT TAKING THIS WOMAN FOR GRANTED!!!

First..not good that you lied to her. trust is very important in a real relationship. I would do everything in your power to let her know that your sorry and you know you messed up. Tell her how much she means to you and how much you relize your mistake and only want to be with her.
