When I was watching a movie with my friends, there was a part near the end when one of the characters started drooling, and was jerking his head, and in the end he toppled over in his seat and vomited. One of my friends said that he was suffering a stroke, but I thought stroke involved paralyisis. Can drooling and weird movements of the face and head be a sign of mild or severe storke?

drooling certainly can

jerking often is not - a stroke is more likely to paralyze your movements

HOWEVER a stroke can be associated with epilepsy (irregular electrical discharge of brain nerve cells nearby) and can cause jerking movement by this mechanism

Strokes and Seizures are two different conditions that both affect the brain. A stroke occurs when there has been a critical decrease in blood flow to a specific part of the brain, and a seizure is caused by abnormal electrical impulses in one or more groups of neurons in the brain. Unfortunately, a disruption of bloodflow to an area of neurons can (and at times, does) damage those neurons, causing abnormal impulses which can result in a seizure.

It is not uncommon for a person undergoing a severe stroke to also have seizures.

I would say it was most likely a seizure. I knew someone who was an epileptic that had seizures exactly like what you have described. Strokes are usually defined by having a sudden severe headache, hemiparesis (one sided paralysis), and so on.

Sounds like a seizure to me. When you have one, you jerk around and drool. Sometimes you vomit. I'd go with seizure.

There are numerous types of strokes, that can range from very mild to severe.

I have talked to people who have had strokes and didn't even know it.
