I was talking to my girl friends the other day while we all feed our babies and the topic of hair on the areola came up. I had always been very self conscious about the hair I had there. I have always plucked it and thought I was the only one plagued with this problem. Well I found out the 4 of the 5 of us had hair on our areolas that we plucked. I was amazed.

I had the hair before getting pregnant. It started to grow when I was like 20. I am 28 now. 2 of my friends had the hair grow only after getting pregnant.

I am curious is hair on the breast that common do 4 of 5 women actually have hair there? So do you have hair around you nipples?

If feel comforable ask your friends and see if it is just my friends that have hair there or just me and my friends. I am interested to know how common this is. If you do include it in your response.

Guys please, no need to add your 2 cents to this conversation this one is for the ladies.

Yes, its very common. The thing that always confuses me is it seems like its not there one day and then its an inch and a half long the next! How the heck does that happen??? Haha

I personally don't have any hairs (or maybe I do but its blonde?) but I believe its quite common and nothing to be ashamed of. I read somewhere that you're not supposed to pluck hair on the nipple though just trim it closely with scissors (steady hand needed) but hey there's a lot of things you're not meant to do but ya do em anyway!!!!!

I believe that most women have hair around the nipples. You just have to deal with it like hair that you don't want anywhere else, except that the nipple area is a lot more sensitive than legs. It is nothing to be embarrassed about...just another place that hair grows, I guess.

Lucky for me I have no hairs, and I am a mother of 4. The one friend I asked didn't either and she is a mother of 3 and one on the way.

It is very common for women to have hair there. I myself do not, but I checked with my doctor and with friends, and almost all of them had it. I have noticed that they all have kids and I do not. My doctor stated that it is very normal. She also stated, that the hormonal change that happens from giving birth can cause it.

I also have hair there but I'm hoping to get it permanently removed before marriage. I was also around 20 when it grew in. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has it.

This is common more so in darker skinned women. As I have only known a few, they all had this problem.

I am white. Most of the women that I know are white. I have not, nor do I know of any white women that have this problem.

I'm not stating this to be racist, only a fact.

You can get electrolysis, if you want it permanently removed.
