Potty training to begin with. if that is done right, it will take plenty of your time, and, of course controlling their bite...but, by 8 weeks, pups learn quite well. That is when I begin teaching them to hold still for grooming, and nail clipping, and standing still in a 'stack', and leash training. .. I have to get a lot of training in by 13 weeks, when they can go to new homes..and they eat it up...they already love to please, and like the individual attention...
By 13 weeks, they have learned to walk on a leash, be good little citizens, not playing too rough, not chewing everything in sight, holding still for grooming, potty trained, and come when called, and liking to ride in the car. ..
Pups are smarter than you think..they just need to be mentally challenged.

I started my Lab Daisy on her potty training the minute she landed at the house at 7 1/2 weeks old. Thsi is the Numero uno training right now. It took Daisy about 3 days to get the hang of "got to the door to go out" and she had one accident in the house in the last 4 years. She was about 9 weeks old when I started with Sit Stay and come commands. I think she is a doggie genius because by the time she was 2 months old she was walking off leash and under full voice control. When she started biting and nipping when we were playing The first time I grabbed her bottom jaw gently, lipped her like a bass, and told her "NO!" after a few times she got the hint and every once in a while when she would get too excited and bite while playing I would pull my hand back and act like she really hurt me by saying OW really loud and I would stop playing and ignore her for a while. She got the whole bite=ignore real quick and has never bitten again. All dogs are smart and easy to train you just have to be consistant and constant. Did I mention you have to be consistant? Don't let up on training at all, that dosen't mean you have to do 23 hour training sessions but I normally will work on stuff with my dog for 2-3 hours a day a little at a time. Try to work the training into play and they respond a lot quicker too. If you make training a game they love it and learn without realising it. Congrats on the new pup and good luck!

First give it time to be weened off it's mother (that's if it hasn't been done so yet). As for training, it's going to take some time and patience. There really isn't any need to hit a puppy if it misbehaves. A stern warning and showing it what it did wrong is good to start off with. Then tell the puppy you still love it. It'll keep this in mind while it's growing up. Advanced training will be up to you to get it trained by a professional in a year or so.

you should try paper training ur new baby first..... then try outside training... and it is true that a puppy does not like to soil the area they sleep in and a crate training method is also used ... when you paper train use a small area bed and then paper ... do that for 2 days then make the area with paper and flooring... puppies can be paper trained at 4 weeks of age as soon as they start walking i know i do it... and it doesnt take long and they have more play space then paper space... hope this tip helps good luck !!!

What do you expect this tiny baby to do?
At 7 weeks your puppy is barely weaned and there is nothing you should be trying to train him or her to do right now.
Start with housebreaking and work at it. It is not a fast thing and will take a few months to get it down.
Start working basic stuff like the leash and little walks at about 4 months.

You have to wait until he is older. But when you start the training, please PLEASE do not be like my neighbours and let the door bark all hours of the day AND night. Also you have to establish dominance - wolf pack style. You only feed him AFTER you and your family are DONE eating. You make sure he is in his crate/bed while you are eating - do NOT let him beg at the table.

This will help him understand that you are the boss and need to be in control. If the dog challenges you, put him in his place. This is for small to large dogs, size doesn't matter when it comes to training. Best thing to do is take him to a training school and learn from a professional

As "tejas yuki" stated, the only thing you should be focusing on right now is housebreaking the pup. I have found crate training to be the best method for this as dogs are not prone to soil the area where they sleep. So when they are in their crate they will let you know when they need to be let out to relieve themselves. When accidents do occur, and they will, immediately take the dog outside and let him/her know that this is the place they are suppose to go. If they need to finish relieving themselves then let them do so and then return them to their crate. Only then go and clean up the accident. Don't clean it up in front of the dog and don't make a fuss over it in front of the dog. You'll have a much happier and well adjusted dog in the long run. Good luck.

you don't...the only training a 7 week old pup should have is potty training. With that, you just have to put the puppy outside every hour to go.

If you mean housetrain, I had one of mine housebroken within 3 days. I carried it around with me all the time, put it outside every hour or 2 and praised it like crazy when it went where it was supposed to go. Worked like a charm.
