They do it any way they can get it. My male cat had just reached sexual maturity when I got him. He humped everything all the time. I finally bought him a stuffed hippo called the humpoptomus to keep him from trying to make sweet love to my leg while I slept.

Get two unaltered cats together....an unneutered 'tom' and a female cat in estrus(also known as 'in heat')....usually after they check each other out...the male 'mounts' the female, yep, doggy-style. To a cat, sex is just for procreation, not for enjoyment like it is with two consenting humans.
The best thing to do if you have a cat is to have him or her neutered or spayed. It prevents a lot of problems, behaviorwise.
