With any luck, the truth shall set you free. And if you DID do it, well, you're gonna get what's coming to you.

It is very unfortunate that child abuse cases don't get more time like that! And if you have only been "charged" then why would sentencing be an issue at this time? I would venture to say that either you have been offered a deal to plea out to felony child abuse. The 6 years may be the alternative to what the actual crime was.
If the Grandmother is "believed" to have done this then why isn't she charged as well, or instead of YOU? Evidence is usually pretty strong for the Police to make an arrest. THEY don't want to be wrong! And they surely don't care WHO did it as long as they get the one that did!
My opinion is: do you think YOU will get away with it?

Questions like this one really disturb me. I hate, I loathe child abuse. How old is this child, is this child able to convey to protective services who did this ? If a child has been abused, whoever did it should serve the 6 yrs for it, or more as far as I'm concerned. Why are the police thinking it's you, they must have some pretty good evidence. If it's the Grandmother did it, why aren't they after her ? You seem more concerned about getting out of 6 yrs in jail, then you do for your child's welfare. You didn't even mention how devasted you are because of your child's bruises. That's telling me more then anything you've written. ~

It is not my business to meddle in other people's affairs. But I know enough about crime scene investigation to know that evidence should speak louder than words.
When was the abuse reported? How old are the markings on the child? Do you have an alibi to support whether or not you were with the child at the time of the incident?
Does the grandmother you spoke of have a police record of child abuse?
Can you produce evidence to back this up yourself? Do you have documentation or photos of your own?
Best advice I can recommend to you is do similar research to see if you can find any evidence to support yourself.
Best of luck...

If you are innocent, I can only hope that our judicial system works for you. However, many of innocent people have been found guilty of crimes they didn't commit. You don't mention the age of the child so I can only assume they are not old enough to speak for themselves. Honesty is the best policy and I would get a dang good lawyer. Good Luck to you!!

try through changes
grammar is important part of your case. You need to look, sound, and write as an educated person. You are going to have to prove to 12 of your peers that you are innocent later. Now you have to convince the people who are trying to find you guilty. Speak slowly with a smile, think before speaking and try and remain calm. Just remember Jesus knows if your guilty so if you are you will be better off trying to make a plea deal as they will crucify you otherwise

I certainly think with all that evidence that you will not get away with it. Granted they don't have a video of you abusing a child but in my oppinion you are going to do six years in the ppen.

If you are truly innocent then fight it..as everyone says get a good lawyer...put your own proof of innocence together..If you are guilty admit it... beg the court for mercy...and accept your punishment.....get help while you are in jail...and be prepared to be someones b***h while you are on the inside.

you are screwed unless the child can tell the court that grammy did and not you. They must hate you it's a shame. Good luck fighting it,
Did a doctor examine the child? Doctor's can tell the difference between a child getting beaten and a child that got hurt on accident and it left a bruise.

Get a good lawyer, don't just get the cheapest one you can find. Get as much evidence as you can to defend yourself and open up the possibilities of the other person completing this crime.

Unfourtunatley, you have been caught in one of the pitfalls of the criminal justice system. If you fight this in court and lose you will have an insanely high sentence, but if you plead guilty, you have a much lower sentence. You wouldn't believe the number of innocent people in jail who didn't have the money or confidince to fight their accusations.
