this just started happening recently like maybe 2 months ago but I can't look people in the eyes and I try to but then I just like freeze up and same thing if someone is looking at me and it might have something to do with my self esteem but im a pretty cute girl so i don't know why my self esteem would be low

Bianca, this is not a self esteem issue. It is a confidence issue. Did you know there are many cultures, like the Hispanic, that looking a person directly in the eye is an insult.
Try this. Instead of looking the person directly in the eye, look at their forehead or their nose. Who made it a rule that you always have to look directly into someone's eyes.
Practice in a mirror or with a trust friend or family member to regain your ability to look someone directly in the eye.
And have confidence that as your mature/grow, you will find things change that you could do, want to do, and have now learned to do.

Probably because you are shy and have a low self esteem. You are obviously aware about it so that is good. Just remember....you are important....what you think and how you feel is important. Try to make eye contact. Work on yourself...read self help books on esteem and do things to make yourself happier. Good luck

Since this is a recent development, I wonder if you may have developed some sort of anxiety disorder or phobia rather than shyness. If the problem persists I would suggest talking to a competent counselor. Best of luck.

You are bashful. It has nothing to do with self-esteem, which is overrated. You will look people in the eye when you gain more confidence.

I'm the same way. I hate looking people in the eyes. I'm not shy at all i just cant seem to look people in the eyes. I'm not that great looking though, so I think thats my problem lol

The eye is the window into the soul.
I don't like looking people in the eyes, unless its the right girl.
I find it to be a spiritual thing.
I will, however, stare people down when they give me the evil eye.

you're just so shy. Try to make it a habit and even make it a game for yourself to count the amount of times each day you can look people in the eyes! I bet you CAN do it girl!

I can't do it either. Its almost like if your looking directly into their eyes you might have their whole attention and its just weird. I just cant. I always look down and most often watch their mouths as they talk.

because you are shy around that person you would not believe how many ppl i cant look into thier eyes just look around when you speak dont put your head down and try to look at them once in awhile good luck
