some1 also told me that there was some type of historical evidence, like you say, about a carpenter around 30 years old that lived 2000 years ago but of course, to bealive that he was the son of god that's other question
remember that egypcian pharaons also existed that doesn't mean egypcian gods are real

A man with a name similar to "Jesus" who was regarded as a messiah or leader by at least some of the Jews was around during the Roman occupation of Palestine. The Romans were very methodical and literate people. Several of their historians and people like that wrote passages about Jesus. Josephus was one, but some pages have been torn out. There were, though, several different leaders who emerged in Palestine with a big following and some tried to kick the Romans out. One of these was executed. The times were confused because of the Jewish Wars and slaughters by the Romans. Some info is in The Catholic Encyclopedia on the web. Other links can be found.

Evidence outside the New Testament about Jesus includes:
Tacitus and Suetonius, Roman historians
Josephus, Jewish historian
Jesus is the centrepeice of our civilisation. After all, we call what happened before Him 'BC' and what happened after Him 'AD'.
Jesus was and is the Son of God. Some people think He is just a 'good religious teacher.' However, that suggestion does not fit with the facts.
C.S. Lewis pointed out that:
'A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher.' He would either be insane or else He would be 'the Devil of Hell.' 'You must make your choice.' he writes. Either Jesus was, and is, the Son of God or else He was insane or evil, but, C.S. Lewis goes on, 'let us not come up with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.'
To C.S. Lewis it seemed clear that he could neither have been insane or evil and thus he concludes, 'however strange or terrifying or unlikely it may seem, I have to accept the view that Jesus was and is God.'
Jesus claimed to be the unique Son of God - on an equal footing with God. He assumed the authority to forgive sins. He said that one day He would judge the world and that what would matter then would be how we had responded to Him in this life.

jesus was a prophet and a holy man, but to write a whole book about one person excluding all other "holy men" including those from long ago existances and those of present, is to tell just part of the story. there are alot of peaceful and tollerant leaders in our world who should be celebrated. I shy away from the word "worshipped." I would think that a god who was holy and who wanted nothing more than to help others achieve world peace, would not want, so much, to have all the glory, but would rather spend his time making sure that everyone has all that they needed for a harmonous life.

Again I'll say, show me writings from when he was alive. The gospels were written a minimum of 100 years later, and the romans, who were notoriously detailed oriented, have no record of his crucifixion.
Most sources from that general time frame were written at least 60 years after (the epistles of Paul...which don't have an eyewitness account of Christ). The bible itself wasn't written until almost 200 years later...hardly eyewitness testimony.
There is evidence and contemporary writting for other messianic figures of the time period, but not from that region.

There is no known historical evidence for the existence of Jesus.
Jesus is not mentioned in any known literary works (other than the Bible) from that period of history.

You are correct. No reasonable person can argue against Jesus' historical existence. There is too much documented historical evidence.
