if you master the modern day picture of the universe, micro and macro, you are a born again atheist
the first time you became an atheist was when you studied the classical physics, Newton and Maxwell. (mind you: Newton was a truly religious person, yet his science as developed later needed no God)

There are Strong Atheists and Weak Atheists. I guess if you go from Weak Atheist to Strong Atheist it's similar? I think that's the closest thing there is.

I don't think that Atheists every stray away from their beliefs and have the feeling to be renewed. It's a strange question!
I suppose maybe they'll have the motivation to suddenly start learning again!
