most of the people on this site have their factual information wrong. and it's not opinion, either. stuff like people saying that jesus was not an acual person. and it kills me that people actually beleive the garbage that everyone posts here. get your information correct before you go running your mouth about it here like you know everything. also, people asking questions: don't beleive every answer you receive here. look it up and confirm for yourself.

so please, be more considerate to the people who are going to beleive the misinformation that you post here.

you don't know everything.

You aren't asking about or discussing knowledge; you are discussing belief, which is very different. The existence of the Historical Jesus is a belief, and not subject to conclusive factual determination. (Even though the body of historical evidence constantly grows to the effect that the Gospel stories of the life of Jesus are contrary to observable historical fact.)

But in terms of answers on this board, it is a matter of belief, rather than knowledge. So there is no point in worrying about people making either speculative or factual claims that contradict the religious beliefs that make you feel safe. Please feel free to believe as you need to believe, bearing in mind that one day you, too, will lose your faith, and will be forced to rely on actuality instead.

Also remember that, contrary to what frightened Christians keep telling each other, there is no majority religion on earth. Whatever your beliefs, you are in the minority. Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jain, Hindu, Mormon, Varbutannah, Shinto, Scientologist, or whatever, you are in the minority. You are outnumbered by people who, in the aggregate, believe you are wrong, and some other belief is correct.

So we have a consensus of knowledge; that is, we all believe that when we turn the switch the lights will come on (which could not happen if the story of Genesis was factually correct).

But we have no majority, or even consensus, about religious beliefs. Finally, don't accuse broad-minded and knowledgeable people of being inconsiderate. In the main, it is the fundamentalist evangelicals that tend to be inconsiderate on this board. Occasionally, a person comes in here actually searching for the truth. People with real knowledge owe it to those people to make the truth available.

NOT EVERYONE,
there are still some of us humble enough to say, we are still learning,
Yikes, i am afraid of anyone who thinks they know everything, that is not possible,
more likely, some people think they "know enough" and the ones who know a little bit of a lot of subjects are either
real interesting and open to learn,
or they are "know it alls" AND THAT IS THE WORST,

"know it alls" CAN BE DANGEROUS WITH INFORMATION,,

i remember when i was married to a dep sheriff, he made me so mad because i had thirteen years in real estate, and Title insurance, and when he was selling his house, he would not take my advice, or listen to me, (who compared to him was an authority on the subject) AND he made real bad choices, and just blew me off maybe because i am female, and he was macho, but anyway ,i do remember telling him that i would not offend him and correct him on police procedure, and how to be a cop. when i have no background in that area, and he had twenty two years,
and i thought, and expected him to give me the respect i deserved, (that was a know it all)

My point being is if a person truly knows what they are talking about, and has background in that topic , then they are probably as qualified as any to give an opinion,,
yet so many people do not have a clue what they are babbling about, and they say hurtful, and sometimes misleading answers,
The problelm is yahoo can not guarantee the accuracy of
any answers, i guess you would say take the answers with a grain of salt,,

Some answers are more critical than others, how to make
carrot salad wont hurt anyone if not a good recipe.
yet if a person is suicidal, or contemplating a divorce, it is not a good idea to say very much other than your own experience, because the wrong person, might get the info, and blindly make a serious mistake, in their choice,

The last thing is there are some real comics who post all kinds of things, just to be rebellious, and although we think we can recognize a jerk, sometimes we don't.

I agree with you, about one thing the topic of Jesus, that is too precious, and too.. "holy" OF a subject to say negative, things, but remember there are athiests, and persons who are evil and subscribe to the other side,, and they are around, so we just have to keep are guard up.. and really don't take anything said in Yahoo Answers too seriously, unless it is to confort you, and support you in your beliefs,
have a good evening.
I love GOD, and God loves me,

What realy gets me is the people who post in other sections about medical issues.

At least in the religion section, most people know where they stand and a false or misleading answer isn't likely to be particularly dangerous. But why would a person trust medical advice from a bunch of anonymous strangers, most of who probably don't have any medical training, are 12-16 years old and can barely write in their own native tongue.

Excuse me, but have you looked at any of the historical writings from that time frame? There is absolutely no contemporary evidence that a man named Jesus from Nazareth existed, only writtings from a minimum of 100 years after his death. There are no Roman records that a man named Jesus was put to death by crucifixion during that time frame (the Romans can be blamed for beauracracy, since they were strict about their record keeping). Look for unbiased facts, as opposed to reading conclusions drawn before evidence is produced. Maybe then you'll find the truth.

people really dont know everything, its mostly opinion, like you said" dont believe everything you read or hear" get the facts straight first. most people like to shove info down your throat if you dont believe it or not. thats just the type of word we live in, uncontrolable. but then you speak up for what really matters. and with this whole religion thing... jesus probally was real, and im not saying theres a possiblilty that he wasnt. but its all the way you look at it from either perspective. i mean i blieve in god but i also believe in the the thoery or evelution. it just sounds more logical than having different races created by only 2 people.

This site is based on opinions .... opinions of others, some factual, others based on a persons personal beliefs, experiences, culture etc. But we all are stating our opinions on questions posted. You have a choice to either find out the correct answer, believe what another is saying (writing), ignore it.

We are human creatures with opinions, beliefs, expressions of faith or lack thereof, we believe or we don't believe. Opinions!!
That's all....

Most of the people have their information wrong? You are generalizing...... Are you angry because people don't have your same view point?

If you are confident in your knowledge then you will be relaxed and will not worry about what others are saying.

If people are not believing your statements, then maybe you are not writing compelling enough information.

does word glorify in dictionary entail spreading fame?

and if bible is truth then all things to glorify god hoes does the comman I ARRET I (cross-section of french stop sign) spread fame for god. first it means stop and pay your respects to the name of god ie I ARRET I ie LARRE T.

KING=IT I IV CUT when you read between the lines in times new roman font. once you see that then see that I AM YOUR LIVING GOD. does that let you down? sorry you haven't given me any power to change or transform your lives so look to rich not poor TODD, the BOY(YODD) who became GOD(CUTOD) but you hated. so don't expect and divine help from my mortal body. just like August Ceasar was declared a god and eventually died also. No hell no heaven just a book that noone beleives basically makes me look like a god glorified in the most powerfull words in history. so sad too bad muslims die in Jihad, boy god feel bad.
