I hear that somebody added it up and decided that jesus died on Friday the 13th...but I don't know if that's why....
I'm afraid of friday the 13th cause I saw the first movie when I was much younger and it scared the crap out of me. But then again, I'm afraid of Japanese children because of The Grudge.
LOL

Our minds like to stereo-type things so that they become easy to handle. People are also superstitious and always looking for an explanation to things that happen. It is usually a fixation on the date, that we attributing bad events to the date. Bad events happen on other days, but they may not have as much attention as when it happens on Friday the 13. Over time, the belief in the dark side of the date becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It is in the history of the crusaders and all that. Friday, October 13, I Forgot the year. Many thousands of Templar Knights were killed on that day and it has remained a superstitious day ever since.
Read Holy Blood, Holy Grail.
Or even the Davinci Code, it is in there also

13 was considered an unlucky number because 12 was thought to be perfect. One over the perfect 12 was unlucky. I don't know about the Friday part though.

Judas (the diciple who betrayed Jesus) was refered to as the 13th apostle of Jesus because Paul replaced him in the book of acts, and Jesus died on a Friday.
Also it is thought that 13 people attended the Last supper.
It's a Catholic thing.

They think it's a Satanic day or something...there is a phobia of the number 13, it's called triskadecaphobia (I think my spelling is incorrect).

I'm not. But some people are superstitious. They believe that bad things happen, on that day or night.
