Have you ever known a dog to die from eating chocolate?

What breed and how much did they eat.?
They always say chocolate is bad for dogs , but will it really kill them?
My dog is always begging for me to feed him chocolate I keep hidden in my desk drawer. I give him some because I dont want everyone to be alerted about my stash.

You made me remeber I had a dog eat a pound of chocolate covered mints, unwrpped it from under the xmas tree.
He looked rather happy to me.

WHAT IS IN THE CHOCOLATE THAT COULD KILL THEM OR MAKE THEM SICK.???????

NO DIE...JUST ALMOST....ITS THE CHEMICAL CALLED THEOBROMIDE... THEY CANT PROCESS IT FOR SOME REASON AND IT JUST CIRCULATES THROUH THEIR BRAIN FOR FOUR OR FIVE DAYS AND THROWS THEM DOWN FOAMING AT THE MOUTH... GUESS IT DEPENDS ON WHATS IN THE CHOCOLATE....MINE ATE 6 TO EIGHT EXTRA DARK BLACK CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES WHICH WERE COOLING ON THE OVEN RACK ...TOOK SEVERE SEIZURES....COST ME 750.00 IN EMER VET HOSP. FEES.....3 YEAR OLD WHITE SHEP. AUSTR. MIX....

Yes, I have known dogs that have died from eating chocolate. It depends on the size of the dog and how much chocolate was consumed. The bigger the dog..the more chocolate he would need to eat to make him sick....the smaller the dog...the less chocolate. Dark chocolate and bakers chocolate is the most deadly. Usually if a dog consumes a small amount I would suggest feeding bread that helps absorb the chocolate, as it will most likely cause either diarrhea or vomitng. A large amount of chocolate eaten would require a vet visit as it could poison the dog to death.

I had a dog eat an entire box of chocolate that was wrapped up under the Christmas tree. Nothing happened to my dog at all. He never acted sick or weird. I was freaking out since I thought chocolate would kill it, but may dumb dog was just as happy as ever.

Either my parents' dog is immortal or the chocolate thing is a myth. We've never intentionally given her chocolate and always tried to make sure it was inaccessible. This miniature dachshund has probably ingested pounds of chocolate over her lifetime, most of which was when I was in high school selling candy bars for a fundraiser. She opened the zipper on my backpack and ate them all!

I havent popular every person whos canine died of ingesting chocolate inspite of the undeniable fact that i used suitable artwork in a vet and a canine grow to be further in and it grow to be having suits. the suits were as a results of chemical substances being launched into the blood from the chocolate that could want to have killed the canine if left untreated. No its no longer a immediately ahead reason for demise yet may reason diseases ensuing in demise like diabeties ect

My friend had a daschund who got baking chocolate and ate more than one bar of it and died from it.
When they tell you it can kill dogs they are not lying to to.
It can and does kill dogs if they get tom much.
Why feed them chocolate anyway there are only about a million things they like better than chocolate.

The dog won't die, but he can get VERY sick. I'd advise to not feed your dog chocolate. If he begs, tell him 'no'

Yes I have known of a MANY DOGS to DIE of chocolate. They can die of a little taste - a bog hershey bar. And YES it can kill them. If you have givin your dog chocolate...your just waiting for a time boom. You really have to STOP, no matter how much he pegs.

HOW MUCH ARE YOU GIVING THE DOG?? Everything has a certain balance make you to keep it! Once a month would hurt, just know that its not an essential part of the diet.
