How does Christianity make any sense to a reasonable person?

This takes me back to my original question about BLIND FAITH.

Can anyone rationally prove me wrong? If you do, I promise to think about converting (no kidding).

If you are a fearful person then it makes total sense. Most of these religious people can't grasp that fact that some people are not fearful, when threatening things like eternal hell are thrown in our face it does not scare us, it pisses us off. The more the threats the more the opposition. When they can't explain their beliefs they resort to threats, this does not get any point across, it just incites frustration.

I used to be an athiest. I've always done well in academics. Honors in high school. Deans List all the way through college. I always thought of things rationally. Then I met God.

Not everything in this world is rational. Love isn't rational. Ever had a crush on someone you didn't even know? Happiness isn't rational or reasonable.

You must have blind faith in something. If you're an athiest you blindly believe that all of this came about by accident - but you have no proof. You weren't there. You're not even the first person to believe that.

Since I've met/encountered God/Jesus, tons of irrational, reason defyiing things have happened. I was empty, depressed and low on hope for any of my dreams ever coming true. God turned it all around. He showed up and amazing things started to happen. The amount of love in my life went through the roof. Now all of my dreams have come true and I've had to move on to new ones. For this reason, I don't see my faith as blind. I see the proof. I stand here changed. My emptiness is gone and it's been replaced with hope over flowing.

If none of that sounds good to you, I don't know what else could convince you of anything. If none of it sounds good, you don't strike me as being very reasonable or rational. No offense.

Any book that was written by man as the word of god whether it be the bible or the Koran or any other book and basing a religion on it will not make sense to any one. Books are edited by society at every turn to "fit" into society and into someone else's judgement of who you should be.

The bible itself has had many revisions and re-writes in order to conform to what society or the church felt was acceptable. There are many parts that were removed and that are lost to those who would search for truth and Light. Some of the lost gospels are found in the Nag Hammadi but even that is incomplete. Plus we will never know the extent of some of the revisions as most older versions were burnt as they were declare heretical and were destroyed at all costs.

Take on the religion that you feel most comfortable with but keep your mind and heart open to possibilities. You can still be Christian, Muslim, Hindu or any thing else and still explore your own connection to the Divine. Take control of your soul, your divine spark. That is the greatest gift we've been given. All of us.

It is not about blind Faith. It is about Trust. Something that is very hard to do in todays world. We are told about the bible it is the word of God it is the truth. Events in it can be proven. How do you know God? The same way you know people around you. You form a relationship through conversation or prayer. I can not tell you anything to change your mind or make you believe because that is up to you. He is a loving God that views you always as his child not a servant. That love will never end. If you are seeking you need to be asking these questions to the creator of all give him some time and allow him to show you allow him to answer you. Remember that a relationship is 2 ways it is not just about you talking and praying you must also listen to the words that are written and spoken. Please go to Biblegateway.com type in a word and see what comes up. Seek your truth from the only one who can give it. Don't place your salvation in the hands of man. You are responsible for your own walk it is not up to others to make your mind up for you. I pray for you seeker that the truth may set you free and that your eyes may be opened.

Dan: just close your eyes and say.. "I am a human on this earth." and think of every other single living thing that exists on this planet...and then think of how we as humans who have been created in the image of our Lord..
and WE are AWARE of our existence.. where as a Rose beside another Rose has no idea of what it is..
and a Dog has no idea of what the stars mean...and a Cat cannot grasp the meaning of time..
Or pray to the ONE who has created us..For that is out gift as creations of a higher power..
To live and be aware that we are his ultimate creation in His image and that He has no Time or Space that encompasses Him. So the mere thought of Him NOT existing is more ridiculous than the thought of HIM existing.. He is the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last everything that we are is accounted for already for a million years is but a blink of his eye that's it.

Have you studied the Christian faith? Have you studied history? Have you read prophecies (e.g.- Isaiah 53)? There is nothing "blind" about the Christian faith. It is rooted in history..

Can I "prove" you its validity? No, probably not. If someone refuses to believe something, no amount of evidence will ever suffice. You could insist that the earth was created 200 years ago, and all of the information in our "history books" is simply a fairy tale. I could then attempt to show you evidence to the contrary -- but, ultimately, you can believe whatever you want...

if you start everything with faith, you will be blind and stop questioning your faith. You will only hear everything that will make sense for your faith and reject everything that different. Thats called blind faith

I see most of christians meet christianity from their social life, from their father and mother, friends etc. That means faith first, think later.

If you start everything with proof and analysing and then the faith come.that is a true faith. when i meet christianity, what i do was analysing, some inconsistence pattern found. So it won't make sense for me

i don't think you are being reasonable. the chances are that no one will give you an answer that will satisfy your lack of faith. Christians are reasonable people. the reasonable thing for you to do is investigate a path of faith, if it works for you continue, if not then that is fine as well. of course being a christian i would hope it works out for you(a path of faith). well have a nice day and good luck with your decision.

My parents sold me to the Devil. Jesus bought me back to God's family. All I have to do is show appreciation for the payment the way God wants me to. Best wishes, Tina
