Okay I have trouble doing an "actual push up", a lot of people told me if I don't go all the way down (like at a 90 degree angle, i got to like 100 somewhere there) I'm not gonna actually get any stronger. Is this true? I really need help workin my way to an actual push up.

You will still strengthen your arms, but not by much at all.

what you need to do in order to get significant results is to lower your chest ALL the way down. Rest it very briefly on the floor and execute the exercise by pushing back up, as soon as you lay your chest down.

If you are doing alot of your fake push ups, then stop. It's better to do a few correct exercises rather than alot of incorrect ones. Form is important for every exercise.

I work push ups on my knuckles,(fisted hands) and have a wider distance in arms length. I also keep back straight and level.
If you are not getting stronger, it may also be diet. Try higher protein, lower carb meals.

get someone to put their fist on the ground and do your pushup and ley your nose touch their fist your hands should be almost 1 foot away from each other
