I have really really curly slightly frizzy hair. It's hopeless in humid weather. I live in Florida, so you can only imagine what it's looked like lately.
Anyway, I have a really nice straightening iron that works really well on good days, but when it's humid my hair just curls up and poofs out. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how I can get it to stay straight even when it's humid outside?

Use Matrix Sleek Look Smoothening cream before you straighten
It protects hair up to 450 degrees and keeps your hair from frizzing, afterwards use the silkening spray. Works wonders

Don't get your hair chemically straightend!!!!

I even have very curly hair, and for awhile, I straightened it daily. I not often used warmth protectant, which dried it out thoroughly. it would wreck off SO actual, and finally went from being 0.5 way down my returned, to my shoulders. i assume i did no longer get the hint. besides, I fastened this particularly some procedures. Get shampoo and conditioner it is designed for dry, brittle, breaking hair. i decide to propose Nexxus professional-Mend. That for Shampoo, Conditioner, and warmth Protectant. It mends the split ends, and helps restoration moisture on your hair, that are the selection a million reasons for hair breakage. do no longer straighten your hair. It sucks, notwithstanding it additionally dries it out, and sucks it of moisture. artwork with your curls. Use hair serums, that restoration moisture, and could additionally fix split ends and stuff. attempt stuff from Paul Mitchell. he's a genius. (':

Try the products that people are suggesting and invest in an expensive straightener that is ceramic.

BE WARNED: I have the same hair type and I use my straightener all the time. Lately my hair has been breaking off really close to my scalp. Even though I use mine on low heat and I don't leave it on my hair for very long, this still is happening. I hope it doesn't happen for you.

paul mitchel supper skinny serum - smoothing condtion
this product comes in a thin clear / see through bottle
the top is a light green pump
i have only seen it come in two sixes one is very small much like a travel size bottle of shampoo and the other is about as tall as a regular bottle of shampoo but it is thinner / not as wide as shampoo bottles

i swear this stuff is the BEST stuff out there - i love it ! and it smells really good :P

you can use it on wet or dry hair for whatever style you need if you have really long hair like i do ( almost to my butt ) i would use about two quater sizes amount - same thing for really thick hair
use your best judgement on that

i can not say that it would keep your hair completely straight in this situation but it would really control it

i hope i helped

Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is amazing. Also CHI Silk Infusion-IT IS BY FAR THE BEST, TRY IT AND YOU WILL BE SOOOOO AMAZED AT WHAT IT DOES FOR CURLY HAIR! Also, before you blow dry or straighten your hair, use one of the above mixed with Frizzeaze by John Frieda. Mix 'em together and your hair will be unstoppable!!! lol

yeah dosent it suck?? every one is like " i want curley hair like yours" and i am always like "i wish i had strait hair" so i think the best thing you can do is to for one dont straighten it every day and the other is put like hair spray and this garnier stuff for frizzy hair and it works really good i love it. but dont chemically straighten it because for one you will kill your hair and two when your hair grows it will be curley at the top and that will look funny. and its humid in texas too. the heat it burns!!!!!! good luck

I have the same prob except i live in New York, there is not a whole lot you can do although they do make a product called Biosilk and that helps the frizz stay down.

as for the first answer dont get it chemically straightened. when your roots start growning in you'll look like a freak. only get it chemically relaxed so that its easier to manage and when your roots grow in you wont look so weird. unless you get it touched up very very often. which means big bucks.

if you find out about the humid part i'd appreciate it if you contacted me. i have the same problem. thanks and good luck!
