Do you believe someone who is guilty of murder should go unpunished if the trueth that the wrong man was put to death for the crime would upset alot of people?

Like say, if someone murdered someone but then a rapist was found guilty of the murder and the murder wasn't even a suspect and someone knew that the murder was still free... but the rapist was put to death already. Should the person who knows about the murder tell people?

But what if the rapist was a really bad person?

And the murder was like a teacher or something like that, that everyone respected and thought was a good person?

A murderer is a murderer! If someone else (the rapist) got put to death in error, that's unfortunate. You can't let a murderer go because people might "get upset". A murderer will be walking around out there maybe killing someone else! You also can't decide that the rapist deserved to die anyway (which he did) and so therefore let the apparently squeaky clean murderer get away with it because it's EASIER for everyone else! No! The rapist was a loser anyway, but the murderer should still pay! What if they had executed a good citizen instead of the rapist? Would you still be asking this question?

Yes,because it's the right thing 2 do people might get up set but cover up 4 a murder is the wrong thing 2 do.Not only that they should have done a better job.I know that the cops do the best they can but they need 2 be more careful w/alot of stuff. But it's up 2 the person 2 stand up say some thing that is the only way i can think of.Sorry if I'am no help but that is what i believe.

No, the real murderer should be punished. I can name a few people who would be pleased when the real murderer was convicted; for example, the wrongly accused's family, the future victims of the real murderer.

No one should be absolved of a crime that another has paid for through error or injustice. That would be an even worse injustice.

Yes. It is better than one guilty person go free than one innocent person be punished.
