No but whatever you do and I mean no matter WHAT do NOT give that child aspirin. Reyes Syndrome is a devestating condition caused by giving kids aspirin when they have chickenpox. See the pediatrician just for piece of mind and to confirm that it is chickenpox

Agree with the last 2 posters. Kids can stand up to chickenpox much better than older adults. In any event consult with your doctor.
Here's a link to an FAQ from Dr. Sears on Chickenpox and kids.

I was 29 years and 21/2 months pregnant when I contracted chicken pox ..MY husband was 30 years old..our 7 years old son also caught the chicken pox !! I was fine so was my unborn son ....
My husband was the biggest baby!!! whatever you do don't scratch it you will have a mark..... nothing major happened our second son is normal....
it is better if they catch chicken pox when they are younger..it all depend on your body....if you have good immunity you can fight it!
drink plenty of liquids and relax.

No, its better for them to get it when they are young because they cannot scratch. Some moms even have chicken pox parties so they can infect their children from other just to get it out of the way as it is dangerous to get it later on in life.

The only one who can give you a definitive yes or no is a doctor. Please write what you are told on here when you choose your best answer because I would love to know. Sorry, but everyone is saying different things here and it's leaving me confused.

Not really, it is better for kids to get chicken pox while they are little. It is when you get older and you get chicken pox, you could die from it.
