.....just staring at you. I've lived on a farm my whole life with different sorts of animals (chickens, cows, pigs, horses...) and nothing is worse than to be cooking a steak or something and look over and to see a cow standing there. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

yup - and for almost a year I became a pure vegetarian. Just couldn't do it and eat them. But - there was always that craving, for fish or meat. And so after the year I started eating fish, but no meat yet.
That changed a bit another year later. Now I also eat meat from the cute cows and sheep and chicken. But rarely (once every 2 months). And I make a ritual out of it. Like getting only meat from animals who were raised on a certified organic farm and had a good life outside. And thanking them quietly sometimes with a toast.
But you know what - it only works as long as I get the meat served in a restaurant or buy it in the supermarket.
If I would have to kill the animal with my own hands in order to eat it then I would never eat meat again.

How about having breakfast and your eating away and your brother pulls the bullet that killed the pig out of his mouth. The bullet was in the suasage my mom cooked for breakfast. After that not much of anything bothers me.

Oh yeah...Every time I go to the aquarium, I apologize to the little shrimpies for eating their friends for lunch! It's kinda not fair that Bubba Gump's is right down the street! Yummy!

If it's OK to eat animals behind their backs, then it's OK to eat them in front of their faces. If it bothers you so much, maybe you should become a vegetarian. Have the courage of your convictions, dude.
