She is a great dabe, 9 years old, and old doggy. Well she came back from surgery week ago, and she is fine. We took her to the vet, and they said she wasn't sick. I have tried EVERYTHING. She wont eat anything I am serious, she sometimes eats warm meat, if its cold she doesn't eat it. That's so far the only thing that she eats. She wont eat any kind of wet or dry dog food. No chicken, tuna, fish or rice or anything of that sort. the meat, she bearly touches. When ever we give her food, she goes and drinks water, thats all she does, drank water!!
Please help how do I get her to eat???

We have taken her to the vet because she is not eating, and there is no temperature , her mouth is ok so she has no pain eating.

Since she will drink put some homey in her water. This has saved some of the puppies that I had that was in trouble. How does her teeth look? Is she running a temp, since she is drinking so much water. May have an infection after surgery. I would take her back tomorrow to the vet or try another vet since this one thinks she is ok.

If you have taken her to the vet and they can't find anything wrong then she s probably just bored with her food or if you are cooking meat for her she may just be spoiled rotten :-). Depending on how much food is available she may just not feel like eating. Dogs are great about knowing when and how much the need to eat. When she gets hungry she'll eat. I have a Lab and about twice a month she will totally ignore her food for about 3 days and then she is back to scarfing her whole bowl down in 5 minutes. Keep an eye on her and as long as she is drinking water and is acting normal she'll be fine.

you need to take hee to the vet. we adopted the dog we have now. hes a boxer, 3 years old, from the pound. he had been abandoned, and when they found him, he has worms. he had pin worms and hook worms, and he did the same thing. he would turn his nose up to food, and only want to drink water. he just wasnt up for anything. the vet prescribed him with a deworming medicine, and told us to fix him and ounce of hamburger meat and white rice, and try to get him to eat it. if not, give him a while and try again. after a few days, and a few days with medication, he finally ate the food. he finished off his medicine and had a check up, the worms were gone, and hes now as healthy as ever.
