see your vet. I do not know if you have anyone with diabetes but my cats had it and my step father also has it. I know at first we paid 5 times as much for the cats insulin, but it was the same as his so he started using it and saved lots of money!

There are many prescription diets, dry and canned, out there for diabetic cats.
I like the Purina DM, I've seen the canned variety do wonders :)
I have also heard a lot of people using a canned only diet, using meat based high protein/low carbohydrate varieties. Kitty Kat-Kins.
I'd recommend asking your vets opinion, and maybe joining a yahoo feline diabetes group to get more info from others managing their cats diabetes.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.
And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

You can receive the best information about this by joining a Yahoo group where other people can relate their experiences, give suggestions and support as you deal with this disease. I belong to groups: feline crf (renal failure), feline cancer, one group called Holisticat where many members feed a raw meat diet to their cats.
Search at Yahoo groups for: feline diabetes. You have to be approved by the group moderator and that could take till tomorrow. You just write a little blurb introduction yourself and try them about your cat.
