if not, then why do we demand for others to do so much work to enter the united states legaly?
i'm not saying thats wrong, but it is wrong to expect so much from people when all most of us had to do was just plop out of our mothers on U.S. soil
we got lucky. we are lucky to be here. so why should we do no work and demand so hard and so fierce that others do things "the right way" to get in lagally
did you know people that get in legally have to take a series of long, hard tests on america to get in?
the teacher made my whole class take a citizenship test in my class at school for fun and i was stunned that most of the people in mmy class didn't know half the test!
do you see where i'm going with this? if you don't then don't bother answering because all i will get is trash.

what's wrong with that, answer #3, is that people in america are demanding too strongly for others to go through a long process they themselves never went through
why don't we do that long process here in america? we don't wanna take on problems from our own citizens, right?

That's why the system needs to be relaxed a little bit. make entrance easier and background checks more stringent.

I am very uncomfortable lowering the bar for people who really don't care about America's laws to begin with. If half of your class didn't know the answers to the test I would be willing to bet it is because your teacher cannot give the attention to students that is required. That is a by-product of illegal immigration. Most analysts agree that class room sizes are one of the main reasons for failing students and school districts in general. The test/requirements needed to enter are insurance for America that the people who do come here want to be here. Entry into America should not be based on who can hide the longest.

Just be grateful that the door is open and the opportunity is being given. If you cant stand the process then you dont deserve to be here. If you come knocking to my door, dont expect me to run to the door to let you in when I dont know you. That's exercising poor judgment or more bluntly, being STUPID!! People with same mentality like yours, would love to have or give a free ride even, and obviously "legal" or "being legal" is not part of their vocabulary.
You most likely skunked the citizenship test too. For someone who has free- loader tendencies, will not likely study for the test.

Is Mexico greedy?
Did you know that entering Mexico as a tourist you only have 30 days to renew your visa to the maximum of 6 months, which requires a fee?
Did you know that to extend your stay to 1 year you have to submit a list of paperwork that will not fit in this space which requires another fee?
Did you know that to get a work permit in Mexico you have to submit another barrage of paperwork proving who you will be working for, what their address is, etc, which requires another fee? It makes getting a Green Card look like a day at the beach.
Did you know that you must renew your legal status every year, paying a fee every year, justifying why you are staying in the country, up to maximum of 5 years? After these 5 years are up you may become a Mexican citizen, which requires another fee?
Did you know that you have to pay a fee to get permission to marry a Mexican citizen, and then pay another fee at Mexican immigration on top of that, to the National Registry of Foreigners? Marrying a Mexican citizen does not automatically make you a citizen. If it did they couldn´t get more money out of you.
Did you know that Mexican banks pay you little to no interest, to the extent that they even charge you to keep your money in there?
I could go on and on and on, does all this mean that Mexico is greedy?

Just proves my point that kids now a days lack a good education.
Proves yet once again history or government is not taught in schools.
I just took one of those on-line citizenship and guess what I pass. Its not that hard. I really like to point out question number 6
What is the Constitution?
1. The supreme law of the land
2. Oath of allegiance
3. The Declaration of Independence

Eh? Long and hard tests for citizenship, I do not think ... basic English and a dirt simple history/civics test? My friend's wife from Sweden had a look at the questions (no, she's not a citizen yet, only legal resident), and guess what? She knew most of the answers from HER school in Sweden ... are you telling me Swedish school children learn more about American history than American school children? That is scary ....

they just have to submit papers we don't ask them for thousands of dollars, if they face bad conditions from the country they come from, then they can talk to that countries government to get lagally deported to some other country.....and why shouldn't the U.S. ask for so much work? The U.S. too has people who live in it, and it needs to provide for their needs, not just people who are foreign to us....it's not the U.S.'s fault that they want to keep a steady population and a good economy. And plus we are a country for opputunities, we want our country to grow, we can't do that if we have unitelligent poeple raid the U.S.

you are right we are very lucky to be citizens of the U.S. however we must know who is coming in and out of our country for security reasons. yes it is hard to get in to the states, as it should be. haven't you heard the saying 'you appreciate the things you work for much more than the things that are handed to you'? And yes America is somewhat greedy, but not for the reasons you think

How can you say protecting your borders is greedy? Every country on earth does that - are they all greedy?
Do you think America is the hardest?
How about the countries that still won't accept you based on the color of your skin?
You need to get a clue. Your teacher needs to be educated. What they are teaching now is a damn shame.

Sergio, my grandparents went through the process so their grandkids wouldn't have to. Plus if performance on a school test is your indicator, I'll have you know that the illegal aliens have done a great deal to reduce the standards of our public schools.
