What you need to do is have your carpets cleaned professionally. The water gets hot enough to kill most fleas and eggs. Also buy some spray for furniture that you can spray on your couches and anything else covered in material. After that you need to buy a flea dip at a pet store and be very very careful not to get it in their eyes. Or you can have it done professionally. I'd put a flea collar on the dog after dipping it to make sure no fleas that might still be around wont jump back on him or her. Unfortunately if you just dip the dog, the fleas will come after you or infest the dog again after the medicine wears off, so you have to treat the floor and the furniture. If this fails you might have to have your whole house bombed with a flea bomb...this means having to leave your house for a day sometimes. Fleas are a real pain to get rid of and to avoid the dog getting them again, talk to your vet about frontline or another flea medication.

Treat it with Frontline or Advantage fleas medication drops. They cost about $40 for a 3 month supply. You can get them from a vet or a pet store. They cost more than the ones from a supermarkets or Walmart but they work much better. I always get immediate results when I use them for my Shih-Tzu. Give your dog a bath (use a bath brush or mitten) , wash all of its toys, bed coverings, and stuff in warm water and spray the bed and the carpet area with some flea spray or powder.

Advantage or Frontline combined with an initial flea bath with soap made for this purpose. You will also need to deflea the home if you let the dog inside.

Carpet, bedding etc.. Otherwise, they will just come back and start munchign on you as well.

ther eare numerous options including flea collars, flea dips (baths), flea shampoo, pills, combs, and drops. Consult your vet for recomendations. I use frontline, which combines heartworm and flea protection. You can also get your yard sprayed for fleas, to prevent your dog from getting them on your property.

advantage, but I know this sounds crazy but it works like crazy to give em a bath in it kills fleas like nothing else. Dawn dish soap just the regular kind some old woman told me to use it once and it kills them and keeps em all for awhile.
