Satan

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Love and blessings

Because that is his job! Look at how successful he has been with you so far in closing your Heart to the real possibility that Higher Powers (both good and evil) exists. We are human because we have choices what we do and what we think. Our living experiences also shape how we look at the world and life. If you are being tempted to do bad things and you know they are bad things..do not blame Satan nor God for your choice to be a bad person...that one is simply on your head to deal with.

Whats satan trying to do by making people do evil things: by closing their minds: abuse their bodies: abuse others: steal, rape, murder, lie... etc, etc, etc!!

It 'IS' exactly as you say... You have even started to answer your own questions now, lmao!!!

The devil/satan/ and his wee friends will do whatever it takes, (and we do mean whatever!!!): to take an individuals heart and mind away from our other imaginary friend (God): and have it focus onto something/anything else other than God... i.e. hating Christians, & all things Religious: would be one of those things right at the top of his list!!!

Where there is good (God) ... there is also evil (satan) ...

What's in it for him? ... again... learn the subject you revile!!

But Jesus still loves you all the same!!!

Because God told satan to praise human, but satan didn't like it, and didn't want it. They really hated human then and built an intention and a pledge to do bad things to human, including influence human not to obey God. So they do bad things as a revenge, until the end of the world.

people used to use a character to try to understand human base nature. as more advance humans this sort of analogy seems to be silly, since the explanation was for people who were not even able to read. I think people forget that it's that what you call it, evil doesn't have to be this demon like creature to exist. I think a lot of people are just fed so much dogma they're not able to see past these old tales.

Satan is the arch enemy of god, let say.
In heaven where god and his angel reside, they are constantly at war with Satan and his evil buddies. To be born in heaven means Satan loses a soldier to do battle with the angel and vice vesa.
Therefore, it is in the interest of Satan to tempt all humans to do evil and be born among his retinue of buddies who will do battle with god's good guys.

BECAUSE HE WANTS TO TEAR DOWN THE KINGDOM OF GOD. HE REALLY BELIEVES THAT HE WILL WIN THE FINAL BATTLE AT THE END OF THE WORLD, HE KNOWS HIS TIME IS SHORT. WITH SATAN IT IS A NUMBERS GAME.. HE THINKS THAT THE MORE PEOPLE HE HAS TO WAGE WAR AGAINST THE KINGDOM OF GOD THAT HE WILL TAKE OVER AFTER THERE IS A NEW EARTH... AT THE END OF THE WORLD, THE KINGDOM OF SATAN AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD WAGE WAR AND THE ANGELS OF HEAVEN WILL PLACE ALL OF THE TORMENTED SOULS AND THE DEMONS IN HELL FOREVER AND EVER.. ACTUALLY QUITE INTERESTING- THOUGH WE KNOW THAT GOD WILL WIN....AS IT IS WRITTEN
