Remember, God has given you free will.
You can choose your path and that includes hell and heaven.

Fear comes from lack of faith in God. As normal human beings, it is hard not to be afraid. I think that's when most people pray. (Sad as that is..) I do believe that the more faith one has in God, the less fear and worry one has.

I'm not a Christian in the recognized sense of the word but fear comes from the sense that we are no longer part of God. If we believe we are not part of God we begin to feel that we are in some way guilty of either leaving God behind or of destroying our eternal home with that Divine source. This conscious and unconscious fear is behind most if not all of the greed, hurt and anxiety in the world.
There are many paths back to the realization that we never left God and that we are unconditionally loved. Explore them for they can be truly enlightening and bring you peace in this world.

EVERYONE is scared at one time in their lives or another, even the most "Christian" of people out there. Being sacred is a natural human emotion. Just because someone loves God or feels they have him in their lives does not make them completely fearless.
Try these examples on for size; Imagine you were in a car wreck (would you be scared?) Or if you had a child, and they ran into the middle of the road with a car heading their way. ( I think you would be scared.) How about having a gun put to your head and the person behind the gun says, "If you scream or move you'll die." ( you'd definitely be scared.)

Actually by telling children and adults alike that by not jumping through every hoop the church sets out that you will suffer an eternal torment in hell would I think count as fear caused BY christians. The fear comes from when you're in your bed late at night and you're not sure that you're quite good enough for the God you worship.

You may already know this...2Timothy1:7 is how I feel. I doesn't necessarily mean that all Christians will never ever be afraid of anything, but we can find comfort through the scriptures and prayer. And when it was said that Christians should fear God fear was meant in the context of reverance not fright.

I think that people who are religious are more afraid than the non-religious. Fear comes from the expectation of punishment. Isn't that why we obey laws because of the fear of punishment. Similarly, the relgious fear punishment from God and thus live in that fear. The fundamentals of any relgion are the most afraid, ignorant and intolerant of anyone that I have ever met.

Fear is a product of religion! "Put the fear of god into you" this saying is derived from the bible! Religion is about fear.. Believe in Me GOD or you WILL GO TO HELL!!!!

The christian religions use fear as a way of indoctrinating people into their religion. The best example for my statement is if you don't accept Christ you will burn in Hell.

im gonna answer this question from a hood point of view---if you turn around and a crackhead is standing in front of you with a big pistol in your gut, i think fear comes from thinking that your about to get your stomach blown across the block onto someones car, at least thats how it was for me, fear is a human emotion-get over it it happens

No I don't. Fear comes from ignorance and religion plays on that fear. Without that religion would have no power at all. I can't wait for everyone to realise it. Still, it's a nice story.
