I went off the pill in March 05 in order to try and conceive. It took me 3 months to get my period and it is still very irregular (about 40-50 days between each period) but was regular before I went on it. I am starting to think that my slightly low body weight (BMI of 18.4 with 18.5 being the cut-off for normal), low calorie intake, and exercise routine (elliptical/running every day and weights every other day) may be the culprit. I've stopped exercise and am trying to gain some weight. I want to know how long it will take me to get regular cycles again? Anyone have experience with this? I am currently under a doctor's care.

Yes, I didn't have my period for about 3 months during an intense exersize regimen. In order to get pregnant you want to be at a healthy weight-meaning not too skinny! It didn't take long after stopping excersizing to get back to my regular cycle. However, if you do get pregnant only do low impact excersize and eat more than what you usually do.
