Catalina Island...?

Question

Any recommendations? I'm down for camping, but how should I go about planning my trip? I don't feel like doing my own research.

Catalina Island is a great place to go for a vacation or quick weekend break. It's also suprisingly inexpensive. Camping is your cheapest option, but I have no experience to share there. When I visited Catalina, I parked my car in Balboa Island and took the catamaran over to Catalina for a small fare. I had previously made reservations at a nice hotel. I was there with a friend. We spent 4 days playing at the beach, shopping, kayaking and taking the fun tours they have of the island.

Beach camping is really nice there...they have a few different campgrounds...one is right in the city (avalon) and others are quite isolated. Depends on if you want to do "city camping" or be away from civilization for a while.

The chamber of commerce has a nice website with all the month's activities...For people who like to camp this should be a good and often overlooked place to camp..

Go snorkeling! But don't stay over night (horrible hotels).
