My aunt had a radiologist who my mother looked up, was not listed, but came highly referred (she is a retired Nursing Administrator). I wonder (not a member of AMA !!). Is being a member voluntary?

I KNOW you must have a license, and thank you all. I just didn't know about the A
MA. Geez, I'M NOT A DOCTOR!!
But, she's close to it and all is excellent.
Thank you all very much.

No, and the AMA is NOT the leading medical association in america..... it's only the best known.

There are many physicians who do not belong but are members in specialty organizations.

Membership in the AMA means nothing.
