THIS NEOCON IS DEFENDING WHY HALIBURTON WAS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT CAN REBUILD IRAQI OIL AND DESERVED THE $1BILLION NO-BID CONTRACT FROM BUSH....
"There are no other companies capable of the infrastructure rebuilding that Haliburton can do. Not one. Anywhere in the world."
WHAT ABOUT?
BECHTEL, FLUOUR, THE PARSONS GROUP, SCHLUMBERGER AND FOSTER WHEELER?
DUMBASS NEOCON....

So, splitting the profits among different companies would solve the problem?
I think that then they would just refer to the other companies as evil as well
WHAT DA HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I'M SAYING ANY OF THE ABOVE COMPANIES CAN DO WHAT HALIBURTON IS DOING IN IRAQ. BUT THEY WERE NEVER GIVEN THAT CHANCE BECAUSE BUSH & CHENEY PREVENTED THEM FROM BIDDING, WHICH WOULD'VE SAVED US TAXPAYERS AT LEAST $500 MILLION. I KNOW THAT'S A DROP IN THE BUCKET COMPARED TO TRILLIONS THAT BUSH ALREADY SPENT IN IRAQ BUT IT'S STILL TAX PAYER MONEY.

you obviously don't know anything either:
In support of the U.S. government's reconstruction effort in Iraq, Bechtel is under contract with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), for the emergency repair, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of critical elements of Iraq’s infrastructure. Bechtel's initial contract, which is complete, includes assessing and repairing selected power, municipal water, and sewage systems; dredging, repairing, and upgrading the Port of Umm Qasr; rehabilitating selected schools, clinics, and fire stations; reconstructing three key bridges; constructing a key rail line; restoring telephone service to more than 200,000 Baghdad subscribers; and restoring Iraq's main 2,000-kilometer, north-south fiber optic communications backbone.
still here fool
London, United Kingdom (17 February 2004) – AMEC, the international engineering services company, will play an important role in the restoration of Iraq following the award of work worth US$154 million to Fluor Corporation, on which AMEC will act as prime subcontractor. The work, which involves restoration of damaged power generation, transmission and distribution systems, positions AMEC well for future restoration contracts and reflects the company’s status as the UK’s largest and most experienced engineering services business.
now for parsons
If we only count the money since New Year's Day, there is first of all the Jan. 6 contract for $1.8 Billion from USAID. The package, known as "Iraq Infrastructure II" is a sexy three-way partnership between Parsons, Bechtel, and Horne to build electricity, water, sewer, airport, seaport, schools, "selected ministry buildings," and more.
do i need to go on haliburton was not the only company to get contracts.
stop believing all the liberal democratic crap and open your eyes.

1. Are the other companies able to fulfill the contract?
2. Are the other companies available to fulfill the contract?
3. Did the other companies even want to fulfill the contract?
4. If you notice; Bechtel, Fluour, Parsons, Schlumberger, Foster Wheeler, Boeing Services Co and Lockheed Services Co are not SCREAMING about this business arrangement.
5. Why do you think that is? Given the size of the contract, one would think that a competitor would raise an objection. And if you think that Bechtel does not have enough muscle to ensure fair treatment from the government, you are more misguided than I originally thought.
