...should the children of illegal immigrants that were born on U.S. soil be deprted?
think about this. the onlt reason people do not like illegal immigrants is because they did not enter the united states "the right way".
anyone born in the united states has entered "the right way". so why deport them?
they got in just as many of you probably did. we were born here. so why are they any different? because their parents are criminals?
well what about the other american criminals who have kids? i don't see anyone deporting them or throwing them in prison cells.
exacly.

denying citizendship to someone born on U.S. soil is rediculous.
i thought america was about laws. if we love laws so much, why break one of our own in order to kick out babies born by illegal immigrants?
that would make it as much of a crime as crossing the border itself!

Runtoli, you are the dumbest person who has answered so far!
if we amend the right to become a citizen as soon as we are born on U.S. soil, then we will ALL have to apply for citizenship and go through trials and blah blah blah blah!

You must be an anchor baby. I really don't want to send children who were born and raised in this country over the border, you are already here so it's too late, you might as well stay here since this is your home.
I do want laws amended to stop further illegal alien breeding in this country. This country is overflowing with anchor babies who are clogging up our school, welfare, and healthcare systems. It is bad enough that there are illegal aliens sneaking over to take advantage of our resources, it's even worse that the illegals are breeding and increasing the drain on our resources by multiplying on our land.
Anchor babies should be pro-American, that is support amnesty for their parents, while at the same time supporting their home--the USA--not Mexico. Anchor babies should support a constitution amendment to stop the production of more anchor babies. If anchor babies protest against what is good for their homeland --the US--then they should move to Mexico (or whatever country their parents came from) with their illegal parents. It's not that difficult to understand.

Because the 14th amendment was never intended to grant citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants and that clause is currently being abused.
"Other American criminals" are Americans by birth and cannot be deported as this is their homeland.
The children should not be able to benefit from the criminal actions of their parents. Here's an example for you. Should I be allowed to keep money that was stolen/embezzled by my parents if the government can prove that money was acquired illegally ?
The fairest solution would be to re patriot them with their parents to their country of origin and once the child turns 18 allow him or her to re-enter this country.

Illegals are a problem to some politicians, financial investors, and economists.
There is no easy way to deal with the issue. Hispanic voters will crucify any politician that deports a family member.
BUT, the money is still being spent in a non-profitable way and our "profit-at-all-cost" mentality just does not accept the expenditure.
So.
Hard, unfair decisions have to be made by the money-makers, and if punishing the children of illegals is part of the money saving package....OH WELL! PROFIT AT ALL COSTS!
I hate our National Ideal sometimes.

And that is why we should amend that right. If we stop giving away our rights. Then maybe just maybe We wouldn't' t have a problem with 7 million people invading.
I never said to deport the kids. I said to stop that right of granting citizenship. How is that stupid. By the F. way my ancestors came here and when they did they stood in long lines and work hard to get their citizenship,. They didn't demand rights. They were never Illegal. I am only 3 generation.
Its called the 14th Amendment.. I think if we stop it maybe it will stop the major problem we are having.
How is that stupid.

Oh...you are speaking on behalf of anchor babies huh? Ok..I will do it too. What person would ever choose to be born for the sole purpose of creating a benefit package for the mother? To me it would show a great lack of genuine desire for the child. A baby should NOT be treated as an asset or tool to gain benefits from anyone or anything. I would seriously question a mothers mental state and her ability to properly guide a child through life who would do such a thing.

that is a touchy subject, be ready for alot of criticism.i understand why they want to come to America and my heart goes out to them. however, we have a population problem that is continuously getting worse every year.. we are running out of work, housing, immunizations and government help including grants for schools and scholarships.this is because they did not enter the right way. we need to work on making every country free, safer to live, reasonable laws.so, they are not forced in to one area.
edit: if you can prove that you were born in the u.s.a they do not deport you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the parents are immigrants then they get deported.where should the babies or young children go???? with there parents back to there home lands or a relative that has established residency in the u.s.a. or do they get to grow up here in the system not knowing who there parents are???? that's not fair for the children!!!!!! however , the parents took the risk when they came in illegally.Right???
Did you know that if they are on state gov. help, they now have to prove that they are u.s citizens?????
is that more of what your looking for?????

Not if the ammendment only applies to children of non-citizens. Try going into a Mexican hospital, having a child born and "walking the tab." What rights would you have?

Yeah, Danny's right. All of those babies born here are automatically citizens, and they're not deported.
In fact, quite a few come over the border simply to have the baby, so that the baby can have citizenship here.

In my personal opinion...If you are an illegal immigrant and you have children here then they should be illegal also.
We are not looking to "Deport" children born here, but their illegal parents. If we just turned our head then people would be having children just to stay.
