I have read about a man sleeping with another man as he sleeps with a woman is a sin, but if he does not act on it he is still a sinner?

homosexuality is being attracted to the same sex. The bible defines the simple principle that relationships of that matter should between a man and a woman, not two people of the same sex.

Think about it logically: Men and women each have something that the other does not have in order to reproduce (which is what you do when you get married). If God wanted us to have homosexual tendancies he would have made it to where to people of the same sex could procreate (make thos babies I mentioned earlier).

See, the problem with our society today is that we throw sex around like it's just something to do whenever and with whoever-which is wrong. We loose sight of the real reason we were given the gift of sex in the first place. Along the way lines are blured with deciept and lies, clouding your judgement. Making you believe it's ok to have sex before marriage when it's not. Eventually snowballing into making you believe other things are ok that are not-like homosexuality without and sexual activity.

If you think you are gay, then eventually you will want to engage in sexual activity!! And when you do it will be a sin! When you are not doing it but just thinking about it it is a sin! It's called lusting in your heart!

That does not mean that anyone has the right to hate on you or judge you-that's God's place. Heck, I love you even if you're homosexual. I'm just spitting out facts that in God's eyes if you are homosexual period-it's a sin.

Everyone here says it's a sin just to BE homosexual. I agree. Being homosexual means thinking about sex with someone of the same gender. However, it's a sin to think about sex with someone of the opposite gender. The Bible says if you see a woman across the street and lust after her in your mind, then you have already committed adultery. Lust is a sin in itself, regardless of which gender one prefers.

Homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord

Abomination or sometimes you mighy see detestable in other translations, meaning it along with some oters like blasphemy are worse or even lower than all the other sins that are found in the ten commandments.

I'll try and be sure to pray for you.

It's no fun anyway that's for sure and imagine a whole life of no fun...no thanks!

It's not a sin to be homosexual, homosexuality is a normal human variation like height or IQ, it's not sinful for a gay person to express their love physically.

If people are silly enough to believe the lie that it is a sin to be gay then they deserve a life of no fun, no affection and no physical expression of their love as punishment for allowing themselves to be so easily gulled by vindictive religious bigots.

I don't think so. No because the bible says we all have a sin nature, which means there are things that are wrong that we all have a weakness towards. It is no more a sin to have homosexually tendencies and not act on them than it is to want to lie but not do it.

Dear aslong,

Romans Chapter 1 is a good chapter that talks about how man chose to worship the creature instead of the creator and so God left them over to the depravity of their own minds and they began to do whatever pleased themselves and one of those things include men with men, woman with woman and it says they gave themselves over to their unnatural uses... etc.

In other words- people chose not to acknowledge God and His ways and chose to follow their own hearts and this is one of the things that have come about with man doing whatever man thinks is right. God is the one who designed us and if you look at the parts anatomically first of all- homosexuality doesn't fit. Part of God's blessing too is creating and men with men and women with women also does not create. It does not mean that this is the only purpose of sex- God created sex - meant to be enjoyed in the context of a marriage between a man and a woman.

In Romans 1 we kind of see the essence of sin- man choosing his way over God's way. So it is not being gay that sends someone to Hell, it is a refusal to accept God's way and insist on following one's own way. In that sense everyone has sinned and need Jesus' forgiveness. That's really important because many in the homosexual community get a sense that God hates them. God hates sin, not people, he died on a cross for people to have the opportunity for forgiveness.

God doesn't just tell us things to prohibit us but for our good. The homosexual community has a much higher rate of promiscuity and statistically few relationships last for a lifetime (which is what so many people are searching for isn't it? A love that lasts forever.)

i hope this helps i'm trying to just share based on what i've learned from the Bible and also from some of my homosexual friends (i'm a pastor by the way). i believe God has asked us to love people but to also tell the truth to them. There is a ministry of Christians who used to be homosexual and they shared with my church a lot of the damaging things that homosexuals have gone through and i think they could be helpful as well, checkout livingstones.com

in Christ's kindness,

Nickster

There are very few actual mentions of homosexuality in the bible. But this one is one of the prominent ones.

In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 , Paul says:
"Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor practicing homosexuals nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

There is no real sin - sin, judgment, punishment are all ego projections onto god. There are negative things that cause suffering in others that need to be corrected. Homosexuality isn't one of them. Note that lots of specific ego projections made it into the bible (read Leviticus and you'll see sillyness like it being a mortal sin to wear clothing of 2 different weaves, planting crops w/ 2 different seeds, cutting your sideburns, etc.).

It is not a sin to be who you are if that is truly what you are. I know alot of people flaunt and try way to hard to be homosexual for the attention, and I know some people who remain normal and go on their live being that way.
I also know some people who try very hard to be Heterosexual and are waiting to release that and do as they truly want.
It is your life. If you feel in your heart that it is wrong then it is a sin, but remember...just to cover my butt for the people that say that they feel that murder is right (smart allicks)..there are consequences to everything.
