Condition is everything, but you do realize they made tons of those things...try a gunshop.

Too bad it's not a pre-70.

The 1894 Winchester .30-30 is a nice rifle, but so many of them have been made. Your serial number indicates that more than three million were made before your particular rifle.

If there is nothing 'special' about that particular rifle, like a longer, shorter, or octangular barrel or it is somekind of 'special edition,' I'd say (depending on condition) $150 to $300 tops.

Standard barrel length for the 1894 is 20 inches. There are some 'rarer' models with a 24" or 26" inch barrel, and some earlier ones (from the 1940s) with a 16" and even 15" inch barrel. These would carry a premium, but you know your 1894 was manufactured in 1976?

Its a nice rifle. Why don't you just keep it?

The Winchester Model 94 is a very common rifle, so you should not have much of a problem finding several in a like condition, to compare the prices..

It all depends on condition and if it has been modified. A rough starting figure if in all original good condition would be about $500 and go up from there. Be wary of someone that only offers $200 - $300 for this gun. It is very collectible and could conceivably be worth significantly more than $500. Not a lot of commercial guns were made during WWII years, and this adds slightly more to the collector value. Also my condolences on the loss of your father.

Depending on how well the finish has held up, I would guess the value at appx. $275-350. The fit and finish, wear, and stock condition being the variables. You could go to www.gunbroker.com and see what the going auction prices are.
