It all depends... Is it YOU living with your boyfriend and your child that is starting a friendship with a guy over the internet? If it is, then I would say that it is kinda wrong because if he finds out from someone other than you, he might get kinda jealous. He could suspect you of cheating, and might get angry.

Well here is the true test...if you told your boyfriend that you have a guy that you talk to on the internet and you tell him that it is of course clean and all it is talking...would he be mad? If it is something that you are keeping from him becasue you know he will be mad then yes in a small way it is cheating....more like lying which isnt good for any relationship. I live with my man for 4 years and we have 2 kids and I went through a phase where I was lonely so I started talking to this guy from the dots game room of all places.... one day I realized that it wasnt right and quit it.
The real question is why do you feel the need to talk to this guy.... are you filling a void...is your boyfriend not around enough or not paying enough attention to you...if you figure out what is wrong and try to fix it you will see that your interest in the internet guy will fade away!

yes because you have a need that is not being met. this other guy is breaking all the unwritten rules about respect for another mans life.no such thing as meeting someone on Internet and being friends.to me a male friend would be someone you grew up with and both of you accepted him and yes it is OK to have a male friend.all you are doing is putting distance between yal.you need to do some deep soul searching to see if you have made a mistake by putting the cart before the horse. just from your question i have a very bad feeling in my gut like you are putting you and your baby in danger.all my red flags are going up for you.get rid of this guy and do not tell your boyfriend and learn how to talk with him and if you cant get help.

I don't see a problem with that. Just don't exchange nude pictures and then meet him at a bar. Don't flirt. Don't talk about sex. Keep the compliments polite and friendly. In other words, as long as it never goes beyond what might be considered appropriate between two people in the workplace or at a church group, then there's no problem. -yk

Of course not, as long as you are just friends. It's just like talking to a friend over the phone, basically.

do you want him as a friend or a potential partner i think you have to ask yourself that and if he is just a friend does your boyfriend know about him because if you are keeping this friend a secret is for a reason thats deeper than a friendship you just havent acted on it yet

Nothing wrong with it, as long as it remains just a friendly exchange. It would be nice though, if you told your boyfriend, about it. He may not see it that way, but he might. Better to let him know, rather than find out on his own.

Are you trying to give your boyfriend a reason not to trust you? I doubt you would like it very much if the shoe was on the other foot.
If you have to ask if it's wrong, it probably is.
