The Bible says that it is unwise for the believer to be "yoked together" with the unbeliever. It's easier to be pulled down than to be pulled up. Bad company corrupts good character. That said, Jesus never abandoned sinners. There are only two lines to get into heaven--guilty and not guilty. We're all guilty. We all sin. If we didn't, we wouldn't need Jesus. We aren't supposed to walk away from our unbelieving friends. We're supposed to stand by them and love them anyway, because that's what Jesus does for us.
That said, Christians have to be careful to avoid temptation. Being friends with an unbeliever, even good friends, doesn't tempt us to leave our faith nearly as much as dating an unbeliever. So it's a balancing act.

would you really want to date a person who wouldn't have sex with you anyway? Are you willing to date a very long time without sex? If you have sex outside of marriage, its a sin anyway, regardless if the partner is wearing flannel or lace.
