Because in the far west it is still light outside when everyone is going to bed at 10pm. And what about Harbin which is really an hour ahead of Beijing?

I wish all liberals went to bed around 9:00 PM and then get up at 8:00 P.M. the next day. I wish it was a routine. Just one hour of liberalism a day. Still too much but a lovely thought!

Yes, all of China has one official time zone. With the exception of Xinjiang Province (see my answer about that here: http://tinyurl.com/hf649), people tend to be clock-bound in their lifestyles. Beijing government sets the official start time for all school classes (from K-college) and all government office hours and that is 9:00am in all parts of China except Xinjiang Province. People go to bed and get up based on their work schedules. Factory workers may have odd shifts just as in all parts of the world.

Not really , it all depends on the people who have different times to go to bed. In China, the whole country is using the one same time ,which is so called "Beijing time" .

I remember reading years ago that China has one official time. This may still be true. Try the CIA's Nation Notes series that they maintain for the US State Department. Google that term and see what the China package has as special info.

no, people go to bed when they are tired, and get up in the morning. Offically, there is only one time zone in China. People on farms and such go to bed when it starts to get dark, and wake up when it starts to get light.
