What would he want you to say (is what I imagine you are thinking)? I would die on the cross to be Jesus, son of God, savior of a grateful Heaven full of people, in a heartbeat. Many people die worse deaths, some at the hands of humans, some by "God's" hand (cancer etc...). Jesus is the luckiest guy EVER!!!

in the book of revelations, Jesus is described as 33 years old with snow white hair, that doesn't sound to me like being crucified as a walk in the park. personally I don't envy him at all.

It would be worth your while reading the account of the crucifixion in the Bible. Crucifixion is one of the worst physical deaths. But apart from that, what Jesus suffered was not just physical. On the cross Jesus went through torment emotionally and spiritually. He not only took the punishment for the sin of mankind, but the shame, hurt, sorrow's and all the awful things which sin brings with it.

That is why He can heal us spiritually, physically and emotionally.

Besides, Jesus knew no sin, so He was the perfect sacrifice for sin. No one else could do this for us.

Each one of us needs to respond, by admitting our failure and guilt. Jesus taught that conviction of sin precedes forgiveness and escape from judgement. Turn to Him today, confess your sin to Him, and ask Him to save you. You will then know peace with God. Ask Him to be Your Saviour and Lord today! If you ask Him sincerely, you will neve regret it. I have been a Chrisitan now for 37 years, and I know Him to be a faithful God.

He took our sins and our sorrows
He made them His very own
He bore the burden to Calvary
And suffered and died alone.

I don't think I'd be convinced that my dying on the Cross would save humanity.
