It's not so much ignoring God's rules as it is understanding God's grace. Christians may seem less devoted because they don't have designated times of the day to pray, and they don't need to make sacrifices, but that doesn't mean they're less devoted. Prayer can and should take place at any time of the day. I think it may have more to do with societal influences than anything else. America is a predominantly Christian country, so American culture has had a negative effect.

Partly it is because they face the most attacks from deceivers and detractors. But then, while it can cause them to err, it does not threaten their salvation, because that would be punishing them for someone else's crime...that of the deceiver.

Partly it is because while they saved they have not left the corruption behind them, as it is impossible to do so until death.

Partly it is because they are falsely accused of beliefs they do not believe, of practices they do not practice and of actions that they have not done.

Romans 2:6-8
God "will give to each person according to what he has done." To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

Revelation 20:11-15
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
