If we do not have free will, the all our sins were generated by God. If this is the case, why did Jesus have to die on the cross? And why are unrepentant sinners sent to hell?

Don't say that he gave us free will, because even if he did, it still means that he is not omnipotent.

Most of you are saying that God is all powerful, but the devil has power, and so do we. Which is it?

Also, those of you who think this question comes from ignorance, you need to read the actual history of Christian philosophy. You will find that questions like these were never answered adequately, so the church started to demand blind faith, The church frowns on reason because of unanswerable questions like this.

Prepare yourself for circular logic....
However, I would also state that Psalm 139 states that "all my days are written in your book." that being the case, if my entire life has been planned out, how can free will possibly exist??? Likewise, if God is omnipotent and knows everything I am going to do, then he is responsible for my actions as much as I am - after all, he wrote it all out. How can I possibly change that which is already written?????
Like I said, good luck getting an answer that makes any kind of sense...

Omnipotent means "all-powerful." Omniscience is "all-knowing." Just because God knows everything that we will do, doesn't mean that He makes us do those things. Let's just say for arguement's sake that you have a crystall ball or some such thing that lets you see in the future. You look into it, and see that your best friend is going to rob a bank tommorrow. You now have knowledge that this is going to happen, so does that mean that you are generating this action through your friend? No, it doesn't. All you have is foreknowledge, your friend's actions are not controlled by you, just because you know about them. This is how it is with God. He knows all, but isn't making our decisions for us. The omniscience is the important word here. The omnipotence of God gives Him the power to change what we might do, but He chooses to let us make desicions on our own.
P.S. YDoncha, I saw my error right after I submitted it, and I corrected it. But, yeah I was using the wrong definition originally, but I do know what I'm talking about.

Well, what do you mean by free will? Free will is a buzzword. The truth of free will is the ability to make conscious decisions, not to "change the future" so to speak.
But as an omniscient entity and an omnipotent entity, god has the ability to do anything, and knows what's going to happen. By not intervening (which costs nothing) he is letting something happen, which he could prevent. "But then he'd be infringing upon your free will!" noo... because he's omnipotent, and can prevent sin WITHOUT infringing upon our free will. The arguement that god is all loving, omnipotent, and omniscient falls flat unless you accept that the universe is as good as LOGICALLY POSSIBLE. And that's just bunk: The universe could easily be it+1.

He does have administration over each thing, yet he loves you adequate to provide you a decision on your movements. He might want to administration you and everyone in the international, yet then there might want to be no such ingredient as faith, because we'd want to all be managed, and we doesn't have self assurance by technique of religion. God IS all valuable, yet he's likewise loving and forgiving, and he has given you the means to make your human being judgements. do not waste it! ;-)

We all have free will to choose to follow good or evil. Evil is not generated by God, but the product of satan. Jesus died on the cross for our sins because he paid the price for our sins with his life. The wages of sin is death. His death covered all of our sins, as long as we accept Jesus as our savior, repent of our sins daily,( for we all sin daily) and have invited Jesus into our hearts to live, and give up our old sinful life styles.
This is called being born again.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus is collecting Christians by way of salvation to become his bride in heaven. Jesus is the lamb of God.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

In His omnipotence, God ALLOWS us to have Free Will. He demands that we choose for ourselves.
That God allows something to happen does not increase our power or decrease His.

You just love to argue and try to prove Christians wrong. But we are strong in our faith. God did give us free will. He could've molded us in such a way that we all loved Him but He wanted our love to be real not forced.
He is my God and I do love Him! And am not ashamed to say so :)

christian dogma doesnt add up. you could do it anyway you want but it still has flaws. Even the idea of Jesus dying on the cross has flaws. so wheres his body? its not in Rome. and no ones body just disappears. and the virgin birth? come on thats pretty damn gullible.
