How is illegals working job that no one wants in America worse than American corporations outsourcing jobs to India and other countries for the exact same reasons (cheaper labor)?

1st. I am talking about a specific example and there is not shortage i nt he field. They are laying off people here because it is cheaper overseas.

2nd. Who did the work that no one wanted before these immigrants came? The previous waves of immigrants (Irish, Italians) that have now been here long enough now to think they are better that the new waves.

3rd. If you are friends with the lawmakers like the corporations are you can make your way the legal way, but still doesn't make it right.

Outsourcing sucks but it's the reality of cooperate America. The problem with illegals is they enter the country illegally and while some work in menial less desirable jobs others displace maids, construction and electrical jobs. Now if you want to argue the merit of illegals why are you willing to them be exploited by American Companies ? The bottom line until illegals can be legalized and cooperation's forced to pay them fairly and apply benefits you'll find them exploited. Wouldn't it be better for Mexicans if they want to work for lower wages they do it in their own countries ? Wouldn't it be better to force the companies who want cheap labor to go to Mexico and allow the workers to remain in their home country ? You are aware that illegal aliens can't risk visiting their families in Mexico because they may not be able to get back to the states ? Arguing that exploited workers is good for America or Mexico isn't a good thing, it they want cheap labor let them go to Mexico and pay for it. At least let the native land of the workers they are exploiting profit from that exploitation. Let the workers live with their families and support them in their homeland. Don't justify their exploitation with arguments like this one. You are aware that illegals have no workers compensation if they are injured in these undesirable jobs they are dumped at emergency rooms with no way of paying or recourse.

Well, I don't think it is the same b/c people from America are usually brought over to other countries via American Contractors that are paid very nicely by the other countries (usually the government) . Meaning that they must be really needed if they are willing to pay super top dollar for their services. Also, these jobs are often very dangerous and very niche fields. The countries usually benefit from our services (and this is done leagaly by the way) where as illegals are taking jobs for less money here in the US so the rate of pay has been pushed down in certain jobs. I mean think abou it...If you got paid a decent amount of pay for your hard labor such as fruit picking how many hard working American gals and guys would be fruit pickers in our country? Many I can tell you that right now....So, No it is not the same thing. Americans don't want these types of jobs b/c the pay is not great and the reason why the pay isn't great is because of the illeagals.

You KEEP saying Jobs No one wants: WHO did those jobs Before Illegals cut the wages to the point an average American can't support there family on them? You see YOUR POINT in INVALID. Americans SURVIVED and DID ALL those jobs before Illegals entered the picture. Your living 50 people per household allows you to live on 3 dollars an hour. Most American families live ONE family per house and need a little more than 3 dollars an hour. Another thing LEGAL citizens have to actually PAY there doctor bills and pay taxes. When the ILLEGALS go home these jobs you speak of WILL get done. They'll simply PAY MORE. And there will be a GIANT sign posted outside that will read NO ILLEGALS NEED APPLY.

One Word...WALMART

Illegals work for less and so they need cheaper goods. In comes Walmart who at firs touted "we buy American" so they protect American Jobs. But now they are the Largest supplier of overseas work. Add in the fact that they force others to do the same just to be able to compete and you can almost say they are the total cause of it all.

And not all want jobs NO American wants! I worked at a place where a Mexican worked her way into management. Once she got there She fired or caused employees to quit and in 3 months had replaced 80% with her own family or Mexican freinds! So AMERICANS had those jobs first!!!

Mainly because the premise "illegals taking jobs no American wants" is a false premise. I've taken a lot of crappy jobs in my life just to feed my family, and so had my father and most of my other family as well. And I've also know others who did the same. Now, I'm pursuing a college degree, most of my brothers are, too, and my father just retired from General Motors.

I take great offense when I hear this statement; it's just parroting the liberal media bias in this country. Most Americans will do ANYTHING to support a family and stay off the government dole. That is, MOST of us...there are a few who just want to live off of everyone else.

So, please, check your facts before making any type of blanket statement like this. It reeks of igorance.

it's actually not worse- it is better for immigrants to work here because then they put their money back into the economy of america- instead of companys who outsource and pay people overseas who then purchace non-american items in their country.

oh eve, you set yourself up with this one...

i'm all for immigrants of any sort around here, but here's the answer to your question, from the other side:

1) they "steal" benefits that angelic and perfect US citizens apparently get denied. (not entirely true. majority of illegals pay taxes, and these days most of them do it with a legitimate tax id#. and US citizens in the same dire financial situation would also get the same lousy benefits).

2) they're ILLEGAL. that makes them criminals. of course, for the vast majority of them, that's the only crime they've committed, and plenty of citizens have done much worse. but i don't see whiners filling up the boards here about those criminals. anyone want to start a board on white collar tax evasion? anyone?

pomfar, i'm glad for you and your family, but it isn't true that people here will do anything to support a family. i've met plenty of people who can't hold a job because they're smoking too much pot, can't show up on time, feel they're entitled to more money, etc. there was a recent article in the nytimes about the fact that about 14% of men ages 35-50 are unemployed, mostly because they won't take work that's "beneath them", feel they deserve more money than they're being offered, or are coming out of prison from drug offenses and find they're record makes them an undesirable employee. so, get your facts straight. it's not true that people in this country will take any job to support themselves and their family.

It wouldn't be possible to outsource a lot of jobs that illegals end up working. In my experience they usually work in hotels, restaurants and other menial jobs

Because they are ILLEGAL, outsourcing isn't. If you are going to try and make a point at least make it a good one.

Get legal, learn English, assimilate or get the hell out of my country!
