Okay, so you're getting a lot of conflicting answers, but I can tell you some things from experience.
1. This is very common, especially among teenagers. You're not a freak, LOTs of people do this, but nobody talks about it.
2. If you don't want to have to tell your parents, try talking to your school psychologist.
3. Be careful with blunt knives. They seem safer, but you might one day cut too hard and make a HUGE wound. I have a very large scar on my leg from doing just that.
4. Make a list of things that you enjoy doing and are calming to you. When you feel the urge to cut, go to the list.
5. If the list doesn't work, try drawing on yourself. I have not cut for a very long time now, and sometimes drawing helps when I feel the urge.
6. If you enjoy the pain, try a more healthy outlet for it. Like a sport or even martial arts.
7. Don't worry, you're not alone. You can contact me if you like. Take care.

Maybe you want to feel some pain - maybe you want to feel SOMETHING, anything!
Maybe you feel numb.
But ... is it solving your problems? It makes you feel good for a while, and then you go and the world gets you down and you have to come back and do it again. It isn't a solution.
Try and address the problems.
Talk them over with your usual doctor, or find another doctor or a therapist or even a friend - someone you can open up to.
Ultimately, you need to solve the problems to learn a new skill and improve your abilities at coping with life.

I used to and I know what you mean when it feels good when it hurts. It releases endorphins in the brain. I have a lot of scars I wish I didn't have them because one day I will have to explain how stupid mommy was when she was young. Get a tattoo instead if you r of age. U get the same feeling and it is much prettier.

There's a name for what you are:
a CUTTER. People do it when they can't control much about their life, but they can control the cuts. You need to talk to someone who can help you get over this behavior before something bad happens, like bad scarring, accidental deep cuts, or infections. Please get help!

in case you opt for for greater 'clean and tidy' issues to do, then you definately could wash different flooring, dirt and varnish, clean domicile windows, have a metamorphosis around with furnishings, manage issues in yet in any different case, variety by your kitchen etc Or some thing exciting, flow out and shop till you drop!
