tell him the truth. nothing hurts more than a blatant lie. it might hurt him or her, but if the person is a TRUE friend, then they'll understand.

Tell them the truth about how you feel about them. If it doesnt work out so well then whats the point in the friendship since your friend is gonna want to be more than friends and you dont. They are going to annoy you for along time about it. Until you get to the point where you cant stand it anymore. So just tell them the truth and if that doesnt work then tell them you just dont want to be friends if they wont understand how you feel. Since friends are suppose to be there for you and respect your feelings.
