AP : Israel's defense minister appointed a former army chief of staff on Wednesday to investigate the military's handling of the 34-day war in Lebanon as public criticism intensified that the offensive was poorly planned, unsuccessful and not worth its cost in human lives.

and the fact they could not hold a single village or a tactical position or even find the kidnapped soldiers or stop the missile attacks on northern Israel or force Hezbollah to disarm ... they failed misrebly both politically and militarly .. pushing Hezbollah few kilometers from the border by means of UN troops can not stop thr long rnge missiles and actually protects southern Lebanon from Israel until they can re-arm themselves!!

I think because Bush was supporting Israel in this war and to admit that Israel lost ... it will mean that US lost. And obvioulsy that cant happen (sarcasm).

The questions still remain ... what did Israel gain ?
Did they get their two soldiers back ? NO.
Did they sow seeds for the next Hizbollah ? YES.
The war cost Israel over $6 Billion.
Who suffered most ? Lebanses Civilians !!!
Have they finished off Hizbollah ? Ofcourse not.
Will Hizbollah disarm ? Why would they ?
Whose image will suffer in the World ? US and Israel's !!!
Because Israel gets all weapons from US.

Bush has once again failed in his foreign policy.

Spread Love and Peace .... not Hate & War !!!

oh baby

Bush and his crew have a hatred for anything call terrorism because is so stupid.

who was bring the Israel the boom to drop on them? USA

who was at the UN keep veto very thing to stop the war? USA

What Israel goal going to this war? to destroy Hezbollah and get rid of it weapons.

With the American booms Israel only manage to kill Innocent people, very few Hezbollah

the failure of Israel is an embarrassment for the USA.

Bush of course will that Israel won the war.
it is obvious because Hezbollah still standing strong, and 75% of it weapons still stand too.

No one won, don't you see? It was an unjustified war. Over a thousand in lebanon killed and the infrastructure destruction you cannot expalin in words, israelis deaths, hezbollah still satnding, who really won? The innocent lebanese people LOST. Israel needs to become humane and stop using hitlers barbecue recipe and the hezbollah needs to dissarm and fade away.

It was a cease fire..Israel has always agreed to cease fire with the return of there soldiers and Hezbollah disarming. How is this a loss? can victory be shouted from a pile of rubble on the graves of innocent Lebanese? apparently so even though the sanity of these people should be questioned.

That is because they tried to fight a Pc war.If Hezbollah fires missiles into Israel again, they will not exercise such restraint. THE NEXT TIME THEY ATTACK THEY WILL KICK ***.THEY WILL CRUSH HEZBOLLAH AND CONTINUE RIGHT INTO SYRIA AND MAYBE IRAN.THE US SHOULD GIVE THEM ANY AID THEY NEED SHORT OF TROOPS(FOR NOW).IF THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THIS WILL SETTLE THINGS ONCE AND FOR ALL THE US SHOULD LEAVE ENOUGH TROOPS IN IRAQ TO GUARD THE KURDS AND THE OIL PIPELINES AND USE THE REST OF OUR MILITARY TO HELP ISRAEL IN FINISHING THE JOB THEY COULD HAVE IN 1967 IF NOT FOR OUR PLEAS THEY NOT PUSH THE EGYPTIAN ARMY INTO THE SUEZ CANAL.

Well...when u think about it..u'll also understand that BUSH is the least intelligent President the US ever had...so instead of working towards a ceasefire and future end of hostilities...he's just bragging about how Israel won. I wonder...whether any of his advisors are sane people...Seeing what Bush is doing and saying...it comes to feel as if...those advisors are some kinda sadistic..., depressed people...who can't think anymore.!
