Why do you obsess with firefighters, police, and ems workers? It's not like they are the only useful jobs people can have. How about shopkeepers, plumbers, teachers, doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, artists, etc...?

How about doing something for the homeless people? They need it more.

My hubby and I are volunteer firefighters and a dinner is a great gesture of appreciation. Nobody owes us anything and we thank you for the recognition. We have one fundraiser a year and last year we donated our profits to a company in need in LA that got destroyed in the hurricane. Just stand behind us and we'll do the best we can to support you in return. Thanx again for the gesture. :)

By the way, it's a nice thing that y'all are doing.
