Imagine you are separated from the opposite sex, you just never see them in society at large, just your sister and mother sometimes uncovered at home.
Imagine you are expected or forced to pray 5 times a day, so the religious expectations are a part of your hourly routine. Your life is saturated with religion at every turn.
In this world, no other view points are allowed. Only the very few rich people have internet or satillite channel, the rest hear one voice, that of the local religious leader.
Is this not brainwashing. If this is not, what is?

Nope it is not, what do you think? Do you think people who have 5 times a day prayer, spend their 24 hrs with praying? Dont make me laff, those 5 times make just a total an hour praying is all, and the other 23 hrs just belongs to you, then do the math, on one side you praise God within a total one hour and have 23 hrs a day just for your daily life, and the otehr side, do nothing and spend 24 hrs a day and get away from God plus easy to commit sin. Plus, I really miss hearing Azan and the invitation to Prayer. Btw, have you ever listening to it at heart? bet u have NOT. if u did, u would feel much betetr and and write something which makes sense. Plus, as a MUSLIM, should i complain about the church bells or Jewish Rabbis? I DO have RESPECT for the other religions and Beliefs, even for non believers of God, Do you???

Who gave you the idea that only a very few rich people have internet or satellite channels? Who told you that there is no intermingling of the sexes? Most people pray 5 times a day because this is what they have been brought up with and it is normal. What puts you in position to judge other people's customs?
You are very unaware of the life in most Muslim countries. If you want to be successful at bashing other people's religions and customs, take the time to educate yourself first.

i m a Muslim but Yeah i agree with u, u r right ........... offering prayers 5 times a day is like brainwashing, since while praying, the Imam (leader in Prayers) recites verses of the Holy Quran which teaches us things like "be tolerant to others, be peaceful, dont lie, dont involve in bribe, dont cheat, speak truth and honestly, give charity to poorer, be fair in trading/dealing, etc. etc." and we get re-programmed according to it daily, and when we go to our own worlds with these things set in our minds, imagine what we will do, huh??!! We will obviously apply the righteous path in our life, and prayers will keep on reminding us of the right thing to do ........... So YEAH, we r getting brainwashed/re-programmed, but only for the better of the society and the better of ourself, 'coz its natural for human beings to slowly forgetting the right path if we are not reminded of it continuously.
And by keeping ourselves apart from the opposite sex, its easy for us to refrain from the evils of all kinds of adultery like :- pre-marital sex, extra-marital sex, rapes, molestation etc. etc., so if thats brain-washing to refrain from the evils of society, then we better be brainwashed for the better of the society then be savages in a society. u can check put the annual statistics and look for rape cases registerer/unregistered of US (or even ur local area), more than 1000 rapes occur in a single day only, and u call that a "society", but i call it a "jungle".
And, Islam never stops us for thinking by ourselves infact it encourages us the extent that its almost obligatory for each person to look around his surrounding and think for himself.
And, dont get me even started on brainwashing, 'coz most of all u urself are already brainwashed by channels that promotes sex, vulgarity, violence, through the media (the most popular shows :- The Sopranos, & The Desperate Housewives). And, when u r asked of current events, u r again being brainwashed by Fox, BBC, CNN etc. etc., who never lets u see the other side of the picture as they only want to show u 'their' side of the picture, and u believe them as they r facts without giving it a single thought even if they are bullsh**ing the whole time. And, u have the nerve of calling us brainwashed, when u r being brainwashed urself.

This is what's known as indoctrination. It's not neccearily brainwashing unless it's forced upon them to accept what they're telling them.
