I'm doing great on Enbrel with methx but Dr wants me to skip a week since I have shingles. I am worried I will go into a flare if I miss my weekly shot. Has anyone had to miss a shot and how did it go? Thanks for any info. Pat

Don't worry about stopping the medication for a week, on average it's expected for symptoms to relapse after a period of 1 1/2 -2 months from stopping the medication. Of course it does matter how long you have been on the enbrel.

Pat:
I am sorry you have RA. It is a burden; a friend of my son was diagnosed at 14 and has been on the same regimen as you for as long as it has been available. Now this is the thing...she is now 26 and goes off her regimen from time to time Entirely. I can tell you this strictly from her experience and I have NO Idea how it will apply to you BUT she has gone for weeks before it flared back up and she had to start from scratch...I am not recommending such a ploy and that IS her decision BUT in light of your question it seems it should be OK for you to go off for a week or so...What is the doc giving you for the shingles?
Good Luck
