Should the US have just stayed out of it and dealt with Japan?

No, but dropping a couple of atomic bombs secured peace the world over for a few years.

It took a few year but yes peace war brougt about by war. It only lasted 5 years but there was a form of peace.

If the US had stayed out of it, our allies (namely the UK, France, Holland and Poland among others) would have been overrun by the Germans. It would have been a far different world than it is today.

We probably would have stayed out of it...at least directly. But Germany declared war on the US on Jan. 8, 1941....so we had no choice.
