Why not worship an insecure person who needs worship, as opposed to "God" whose not supposed to be insecure?

When I was in my teens, i need a girlfriend to worship me...i didnt know it, but I had insecurities to work-out.

Now I like a woman who challenges me or I can learn something from...but forget me and my maturity curve...lets talk about this wacky insecure version of God.

Whats up with that? He doesnt need worship right? He certainly doesnt need anyone bending down for him 5 times a day or burrowing in a candle filled grotto somewhere...right?

You got a point, in reality G-d doesn't need worshipers. He much rather have people who do it out of free will and not because they are brainwashed zombies who pray to him because some one told them to.

This is an imperfect analogy to imperfectly answer your question:

If you have good parents and they require your honor and obedience so that they may teach you to be good, are they going to say to you, "You know, the Johnsons across the way are really insecure and need someone to obey and honor them to make them feel better about themselves. Why don't you, little Billy, go honor and obey the Johnsons instead of us? Let them be your priority, your model, and your guides through life. We're secure enough in ourselves that we don't require your obedience; the Johnsons, though, could use a little lift from your obedience"?

And then Billy goes and obeys the Johnsons, who send him to the fridge to get beers and who tell him to be quiet when their other child molests him and tell him to steal things from the store for them since kids are less likely to get searched than the adults. And so forth.

God's demand for obedience and worship is for our good, not for his ego. God has no ego and is therefore neither secure nor insecure. God is our Father and knows what is best for us, and so requires our commitment to and love for him so that he may work in our lives.

God isn't insecure. God has reported a regulation and God has set each and all of the regulations whether guy obeys them or no longer or whether guy acknowledges them or no longer. God needless to say tells guy that He does not supply His glory to all and sundry, via fact no person is worth of it. God holds each and every thing at the same time via His power and God spoke each and every thing into life. have you ever no longer seen the 2d, third and 4th era in operation? the super Grandfather beverages, the Grandfather beverages, the father beverages and the son beverages. it says in the 10 commandments, do not worship anyone but the god head. he says not to worship anyone above god. but that really means heavenly father-god is first and Jesus Christ-the lord second and the holy ghost(note ghost he doesn't have a body like god or the lord)-3rd. then after that you can look up to some one you know, just not worship. i think what you really need is for her to look up to you not worship you.

Whats wrong with thanking God, loving God and honoring God? Isn't that what you do for your parents or someone you look up to for helping you out?

you have issues, man. the reason someone would worship anything is if they respect it and/or fear it. you may have gotten the instillation of fear down but, respect? an insecure person who demands worship from others doesn't seem too deserving of respect to me.

Agree......but all his sheep are counted and he wants them all to return to him, whole and complete....worship perhaps is not the word, but right now it is the only word. It is "us" who misuse the meaning of words, because we only have the human concepts to apply to a very limited language.
