Also, a lot of shelters don't put up ALL their dogs, so if you're looking for a little dog or a puppy, your best bet is to check out the shelter in person because small dogs and puppies get adopted so fast that they never make it up online!

We've gotten 2 dogs from there. They're in Port Washington, NY
Call before you go if you've got a specific type of dog in mind. (they sometimes take the smaller/mid-sized dogs out in a special bus to visit different areas so if you go on one of those days there might only be larger dogs there then).
